Stirling Optical is an independent family practice, specialising in ophthalmic healthcare. We have the very latest optical technology, including digital retinal imaging, which enables us to detect all common eye conditions, as well as more serious ones such as Glaucoma. Our wide range of frames offers something for everyone, whether you prefer traditional styles or designer brands. If you haven't visited us before, you'll find our frames are competitively priced and often cheaper than the chains. Everyone should have an eye examination at least once every 2 years and this is now fully funded by the NHS. If we can be of assistance, we would be delighted to help and hope to see you soon.

This is our third year sponsoring Ceitidh as she represents Stirling County RFC in the Women’s Premiership, and what a journey it’s been so far.

At just 22, Ceitidh recently earned her first cap for Scotland Women, making her international debut against Canada. She followed that milestone with another last weekend, making her first start for Scotland at scrum-half against New Zealand. We’re delighted to continue supporting Ceitidh and wish her all the very best for the 2026/27 season! 🙌

Meet the team 👋

Ruth qualified as an Optometrist in 2004 and joined the Stirling Optical team in 2015. With a degree in Optometry and an Independent Prescribing qualification, she brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to every appointment.

Outside of work, Ruth is a keen open water swimmer, regularly taking on the chilly waters of Scotland's lochs – whatever the weather!

We're proud to have Ruth as part of the team, providing expert eye care with a friendly, professional approach. 👓

Today marks 20 years since we opened our doors in Stirling. 🎉

We're so grateful to our amazing team, our loyal patients and everyone who has supported our family-run practice over the years.

To celebrate, here are a few fun facts from the last 20 years:

👓 Around 75,000 eye appointments carried out
😎 More than 9,000 pairs of sunglasses fitted
☕ Over 100,000 cups of tea consumed
👶 12 babies born to staff, with 2 now working at Stirling Optical
♻️ Around 4,500 pairs of glasses and 100kg of contact lenses recycled

The 20 years of Stirling Optical wouldn’t have been possible without our amazing team. 👓✨

As we celebrate 20 years, here’s a look back at the people who have been part of our journey.

From Tony and Julie, who opened the practice in 2006, to welcoming Geraldine, Dianne and Anne Marie in 2008, Ruth, Alison and Catherine in 2016, Michelle in 2018, and the fantastic team we have today, including Faith, Kyle, Daniel and Madeleine.

A special thank you to Karen, Nicole, Mya, Abby, Billy and Lilli, who were all with us for a number of years. Every person has played an important role in making Stirling Optical what it is today.
