You picked up a ni**le...

So you took a bit of time off.

You did a couple of exercises you found on TikTok once or twice...

Then you went straight back to doing the exact thing that caused the ni**le in the first place.

Sound familiar? πŸ‘€

It's one of the biggest reasons aches and pains never seem to go away.

Taking a few days off might calm the pain, but it doesn't prepare your body for the demands that caused the problem in the first place.

The goal isn't just to make the pain disappearβ€”it's to build your body back up so it can tolerate the loads you want to put through it.

That means:
βœ… Gradually increasing strength
βœ… Progressively loading the injured tissue
βœ… Returning to training in stages, not all at once

Think of it like rebuilding confidence. Every session should leave your body a little more capable than the last.

Yes, it takes a bit more patience.

But if you do it properly, you only have to do it once.

If you keep rushing back too soon, you're likely to end up stuck in the same cycle:
πŸ‘‰ Pain
πŸ‘‰ Rest
πŸ‘‰ Feel better
πŸ‘‰ Return too quickly
πŸ‘‰ Pain again

Stop chasing short-term relief. Start building long-term resilience.

If you've got a ni**le that just won't shift, we'd be happy to help you get to the root of it and build a plan that gets you back doing what you loveβ€”for good.

The neck stretch you've been looking forπŸ’†πŸΌβ€β™‚οΈ

If you've been dealing with:

βœ… Tight shoulders
βœ… Neck stiffness
βœ… Headaches
βœ… Pain between your shoulder blades
βœ… Hours spent at a desk...

Your levator scapulae could be the culprit.

This small muscle runs from the top of your shoulder blade to your neck and is one of the most common muscles to become tight from poor posture, stress, heavy lifting, or long hours looking down at your phone.

This simple release can help:
βœ”οΈ Reduce neck tension
βœ”οΈ Improve shoulder mobility
βœ”οΈ Ease stiffness after training or work
βœ”οΈ Help you move more comfortably throughout the day

πŸ’‘ Remember: stretching provides temporary relief, but if this muscle is constantly tightening up, there's usually an underlying reason. That's where an assessment and treatment can help identify the root cause.

We welcomed our new arrival Rowan last week and we have been spent the last week at a slightly slower pace than normal (Connell doesn't quite allow for full relaxation)

I'll be picking up messages and enquiries over the next few days before I return to clinic as normal on the 27th July.

Appointments are available to book through link in description or online at www.stirlingsportsclinic.co.uk.

I look forward to seeing everyone soon just in time for a busy couple of months of the calender!
