💚 Could Stress Be The Missing Piece Of Your Health Puzzle?

Have you ever noticed that your digestive symptoms seem worse when life feels overwhelming?

Or perhaps you find yourself reaching for food when you're stressed, anxious or emotionally drained?

You're not imagining it.

The connection between your brain and your gut is incredibly powerful.

Long-term stress can influence:

🤍 Digestion

🤍 Bloating

🤍 IBS symptoms

🤍 Food cravings

🤍 Sleep

🤍 Energy levels

🤍 Hormonal balance

As a Nutritional Therapist, I often find that supporting someone's physical health is only one part of the picture.

Sometimes we also need to calm the nervous system.

That's where Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), also known as Tapping, can be incredibly powerful.

By gently tapping on specific acupressure points while working through thoughts and emotions, EFT can help reduce stress and support emotional wellbeing.

Many of my clients tell me they feel calmer, lighter and more in control after just one session.

✨ Special Introductory Offer

Experience your first EFT session for just £55.

Whether you're feeling stuck, overwhelmed or simply ready to make positive changes, this could be the first step towards a healthier, happier you.

💬 Have you ever tried EFT before?

I'd love to hear about your experience—or answer any questions you may have.

💚 Struggling with bloating or constipation?

Imagine waking up feeling lighter... more comfortable... and finally feeling like you've emptied your bowels properly.

🌿 Can Stress Affect Your Gut?

Absolutely.

In fact...

Stress affects digestion just as much as what you eat.

When your body is constantly in "fight or flight" mode...

❌ Digestion slows.

❌ Stomach acid reduces.

❌ Nutrient absorption suffers.

❌ Your gut microbiome changes.

❌ Bloating and constipation become more likely.

Healing your gut isn't just about food.

It's also about calming your nervous system.

Some of my favourite ways to do this👇

🧘 Restorative Yoga

🌬 Breathwork

✨ Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT)

🚶 Walking in nature

😴 Quality sleep

Sometimes your body doesn't need more supplements...

It simply needs to feel safe again.

💚

🥣 CRUNCHY BANANA & PEANUT BUTTER SMOOTHIE BOWL

Who says healthy breakfasts have to be boring? 😍

This Crunchy Banana & Peanut Butter Smoothie Bowl is one of my go-to breakfasts when I want something quick, nourishing and satisfying.

It's packed with healthy fats, fibre and plant goodness to help support your gut microbiome while keeping you feeling fuller for longer.

Ingredients

Smoothie Bowl

🍌 ½ banana (use an unripe banana if following a Low FODMAP or yeast-free diet)

🥜 1 tbsp natural peanut butter

🌿 1 tsp maca

✨ ½ tsp cinnamon

🥛 150ml almond milk

Crunchy Topping

🥥 1 tsp coconut oil

🥜 2 tbsp roughly chopped nuts

🌻 1 tbsp sunflower, pumpkin & sesame seeds

✨ ½ tsp cinnamon

To serve:

🥣 2–3 tbsp toasted granola

Method

Simply blend together the banana, peanut butter, maca, cinnamon and almond milk until smooth.

Meanwhile, gently melt the coconut oil in a frying pan. Add the chopped nuts and seeds, shaking the pan regularly until lightly toasted. Sprinkle over the cinnamon and continue toasting for another couple of minutes, stirring continuously.

Pour the smoothie into a bowl, top with the toasted nut and seed mixture and finish with a sprinkle of granola for the perfect crunchy contrast.

Enjoy! 💚

🔬 Parasite Cleanse or Proper Testing?

Seen parasite cleanses all over social media?

Before spending money on supplements, it's worth asking one important question...

Do you actually have a parasite?

Many symptoms associated with parasites—such as bloating, fatigue, diarrhoea, constipation and abdominal discomfort—can also be caused by IBS, SIBO, food sensitivities, gut infections or an imbalance in your gut microbiome.

That's why I believe in testing rather than guessing.

Where appropriate, the Genova GI Effects® Comprehensive Stool Test can provide valuable insight into:

🔬 Parasites

🦠 Beneficial gut bacteria

⚠️ Potential harmful bacteria

🍄 Yeast overgrowth

🛡 Gut immune function (including Secretory IgA)

🔥 Inflammation

🍽 Digestive function and absorption

By understanding what's happening inside your gut, we can create a personalised plan based on evidence, rather than trial and error. Instead of simply treating symptoms, we can identify and address the root cause of your digestive issues.

📩 If you're tired of guessing what's causing your digestive symptoms, let's chat.

🦠 It's Not Always SIBO...

SIBO gets a lot of attention...

But it's not always the whole story.

Your colon is home to trillions of beneficial bacteria that help support:

✔ Digestion

✔ Immunity

✔ Bowel regularity

✔ Mood

✔ Overall health

When your gut microbiome becomes imbalanced, symptoms such as bloating, constipation and food sensitivities can develop.

That's why I don't believe in guessing.

I believe in understanding what's happening inside your gut so we can create a plan that's right for YOU.

💚

Every gut has a story.

Let's find yours.

🛡️ Your Gut's First Line of Defence

Did you know your gut has its own immune system?

One important part of that defence is called Secretory IgA.

Think of it as your gut's security guard. 🛡️

It helps protect you from:

🦠 Bacteria

🦠 Viruses

🍄 Yeast

🥜 Food antigens

Long-term stress...

Poor diet...

Infections...

Antibiotics...

All have the potential to affect this important protective barrier.

Rather than removing more and more foods...

Let's understand WHY your gut is reacting.

💚

Knowledge is powerful.

Testing is even more powerful.

🌿 Are You Feeding Your Good Gut Bugs?

Did you know you're not just feeding yourself... you're feeding trillions of bacteria living inside your gut too? 🦠💚

One of the biggest mistakes I see people make is focusing on what they need to cut out of their diet.

Instead, let's shift the focus to what you can add in.

Research suggests that aiming for 30 or more different plant foods each week can help support a healthier, more diverse gut microbiome.

Think beyond fruit and vegetables...

🥦 Colourful vegetables

🍓 Berries

🫘 Beans and lentils (if they're new to you, introduce them gradually to avoid bloating)

🥜 Nuts and seeds

🌾 Wholegrains

🧄 Herbs and spices

🌿 Fresh herbs

Every different plant contains unique fibres and polyphenols that nourish different strains of beneficial bacteria.

When your gut bugs are thriving, they can help support:

✔ Better digestion

✔ More regular bowel movements

✔ Less bloating

✔ A stronger immune system

✔ Improved energy

✔ Better mood

Small, consistent changes really do make a difference.

Your gut doesn't need perfection—it needs diversity.

👇 Challenge yourself this week...

How many different plant foods can you eat?

Count everything!

Fruit 🍎

Vegetables 🥦

Beans 🫘

Lentils

Nuts 🥜

Seeds 🌻

Herbs 🌿

Spices 🧂

Tell me your number in the comments! 👇 I'd love to see who can reach 30+ this week.

💚 Save this post as a reminder and share it with someone who's working on improving their gut health.
