SPARC is still here!!!!

I attended a meeting last week and received a comment saying it was good to see SPARC up and running again as they thought we had disappeared. It made me wonder how many other people think the same.
I want to tell everyone that SPARC is very much still here and that we have never been away. We did for a while maintain a low profile while we reassessed and reconfigured, but since moving away from Progress House last year we have continued to deliver and develop a range of therapeutic and support services for the people of Stockport who struggle with their mental health.

Our office is now based at Disability Stockport and;

We still deliver our National Lottery funded Counselling Service providing one to one sessions and therapeutic workshops

We still deliver our National Lottery funded Young Adults project supporting young people aged 18 - 30

We still have our Community Hub partnership with Pure Innovations

We still have a greenspace offer based our allotment

We still have service user involvement as an integral part of our service and promote the user voice

We still have the support of service users, volunteers and trustees

We have established a SPARC Social session which includes arts & crafts and a place for people to meet and support each other

We have recruited 3 new Peer Support Workers working with partners in the new Stockport Neighbourhood Mental Health Team

If anyone would like more information or refer to any of our services then please reach out to us by emailing [email protected] or ring 07704992934 (Mon-Thur)

We've got some brilliant groups already, but we know there's so much more we could be doing. The thing is, we want to hear from YOU.

What social groups or activities would make a difference in your life? What's missing in our area? Is there something you've always wished existed but never found?

Drop your ideas in the comments, no suggestion too big or small. We'll read every single one and use them to shape what we run next.

If there's something specific you'd love to help organise or be part of, say that too. This is your community!
