Your lung health matters

Lung cancer often doesn't cause symptoms in its early stages, which is why screening is so important.

If you're aged 55–74, registered with a GP practice in Greater Manchester, and are a current or former smoker, you may be eligible for a free Lung Cancer Screening appointment.

If you're invited, please make time to attend, even if you're feeling fit and healthy. Screening can help detect lung cancer early, when treatment is more likely to be successful.

The Lung Cancer Screening service welcomes everyone eligible. LGBTQ+ people are more likely to smoke and may be less likely to seek healthcare, so we want to reassure you that the service is friendly, inclusive and completely non-judgemental.

"This Van Can" is back! Throughout August, the mobile cancer awareness van will be visiting locations across Stockport to offer free, friendly conversations with specially trained staff.
The team will be available to talk about spotting the early signs of cancer, answer questions and provide information on when to seek advice.
The confirmed dates across Stockport are from 10 am–4pm.

• Thursday 13th August – Asda, Marple
• Friday 14th August – Hazel Grove
• Saturday 15th August – Stockport Market
