Clarity Autism Services

Clarity Autism Services https://www.clarityautism.com It is possible that further assessment is not indicated. This will be discussed with you following the initial consultation.

We provide high quality autism assessments for children, young people and adults using ‘gold standard’ tools (e.g., ADI, 3di, ADOS 2) across the North-East of England. All of our assessments are compliant with NICE guidelines, which propose multiple recommendations regarding high quality assessments, including the use of a multidisciplinary team, observations across different settings & considerat

ion of differential diagnosis. During a free consultation with a Clinical Psychologist, we will speak to you about your requirements and if appropriate consider differential diagnosis with you. However, if assessment is required then we will develop an assessment plan with you. Assessments can include taking a detailed developmental history, gathering information from school, an observation within school, a cognitive assessment, Speech and Language Therapy assessment and the ADOS-2. We can start the assessment within 2-4 weeks of your first contact with us and will guide you through every step of the process. The exact cost of the assessment will depend on which components are required to reach a conclusion in relation to diagnosis. Contact = [email protected] // 01642 983977

It’s back to school for many children this week.

The first few days can take a lot of energy, particularly after the long summer break. At this time of year, restoration can be just as important as routine. 🪫

Keeping evenings calm, reducing unnecessary demands and making time for preferred activities / periods of rest can all provide opportunities to recharge.

This time to recover after school can support emotional regulation and help children replenish the energy they need for the following day.

This season, Clarity Autism are delighted to be sponsoring Anna King, goalkeeper for Durham Women FC. ⚽️🧤

Durham Women are a fantastic local club who share our commitment to building a more inclusive community here in the North East — a commitment that has been at the heart of Clarity Autism since we began five years ago.

We’re really proud to support Anna and the club, and can’t wait to see Durham kick off the new season on 6th September.

Good luck, Anna and everyone at Durham Women! 💙

Continuing our 5-year celebration, we are sharing feedback from families about the difference a thorough, high-quality autism assessment can make.🙏

This family shared how their son’s diagnosis in 2021 helped unlock greater understanding at home and in school, leading to a detailed EHCP and access to additional support, with the assessment report and recommendations described as “a key” that opened doors to the help their child needed to thrive.

Happy Birthday to us! 🎉

5 years of delivering high quality autism assessments across the North East.

We’re incredibly proud of the support we’ve provided to so many children, young people, adults and families over the last five years — and grateful to everyone who has trusted us to be part of their journey.

Thank you as well for your continued support, recommendations and kind feedback, including our 62 ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Google reviews.

Later this week, we’ll also be sharing some updates from families who first accessed our service back in 2021 — looking at where they are now and reflecting on their journeys since diagnosis.

Here’s to the next chapter! 🙏

This week is Neurodiversity Celebration Week – a week which celebrates the different ways people think, work and see the world. 🌟

These differences help to develop new ideas and better understanding and are something we value strongly at Clarity Autism.

Our assessment services are shaped by a range of perspectives, including the insight of our psychologist, Dr Patrick Welsh (who received his autism diagnosis 8 years ago). Patrick leads our adult assessment services and contributes to the design of how we deliver services. Bringing his lived experience and expertise with research & clinical practice into our processes helps us create neuro-affirmative assessments that are more thoughtful, respectful and better tailored to the people we support. 🙏

Happy Friday everyone!

A big part of the work we do at Clarity Autism is understanding energy accounting — how socialising, thinking, and coping all use up energy, and how important it is to manage the associated fatigue. 🪫

This weekend we’ll be playing the board game, A Place for All My Books, which reflects that nicely. Players use a social battery mechanic, where choices cost energy and rest helps you recharge - something we regularly discuss as part of our assessments.

We hope you all have a lovely weekend. We’ll not only be playing the game but also following the game’s lead and recharging our batteries before the week ahead 💙📚🔋
