πŸ“š WHEN SHOULD YOUR CHILD STAY OFF SCHOOL? πŸ€’

It can be difficult to know when your child is too unwell to go to school or nursery.

As a general guide, your child should stay at home if they are too unwell to take part in their usual activities, or if they have certain infections where a period away from school is recommended.

If you're unsure whether your child is well enough to attend school, please check the NHS guidance

πŸ’™ Keeping children at home when they are genuinely unwell helps them recover and reduces the spread of infection to other children and staff.

πŸ“’ Important Information for Some Patients with Diabetes πŸ“’

Over the coming weeks, some patients will receive a letter about a change to their diabetes medication.

The NHS now recommends dapagliflozin as the first-choice medicine in this group, as it works in the same way as several other similar medications.

If you receive a letter, please read it carefully. In most cases, you do not need to book a GP appointment. You can finish your current supply before starting the new medication, and your usual diabetes reviews will continue as normal.

If you have any questions or do not wish to switch, please speak to your pharmacist or contact the practice before 31 August 2026.

Thank you for your continued support.

🫁 Lung Cancer Screening – Could You Be Eligible?

The NHS Lung Cancer Screening Programme is helping to detect lung cancer earlier, when treatment is often more successful.

If you're aged 55 to 74 and have ever smoked, you may be invited for a free lung health check. Even if you feel well and have no symptoms, it's important to attend if you're invited.

Your appointment may include:
βœ… A discussion about your lung health and smoking history.
βœ… Advice and support to stop smoking, if you'd like it.
βœ… If appropriate, a quick, painless CT scan to check your lungs.

Finding lung cancer early can make a real difference.

If you receive an invitation, please don't ignore it – it's an opportunity to look after your health.

Starting university or moving into student accommodation this autumn? You could be eligible for a FREE MenB vaccination from 20 July.

β€’ Are under 25 and are going to university or moving into student accommodation for the first time.

πŸ’‰ You'll need 2 doses, given at least 4 weeks apart, for full protection.

Don't wait until you arrive at university – book your appointments now and get protected before term begins.

πŸ“… Free vaccination available from 20 July.

Book your MenB vaccination at a participating pharmacy:
