‼ CHECK YOUR SKIN — INCLUDING YOUR FEET 👣

Acral lentiginous melanoma (ALM) is a serious type of skin cancer that can appear on the soles of the feet, palms of the hands, or under/around the nails.

It can affect any skin tone, but it is the most common form of melanoma in people with darker skin.

ALM often develops on normal-looking skin and may appear as:
• A dark patch or discolouration
• A bruise-like mark that isn’t caused by injury
• A subtle light brown or grey area that doesn’t heal

Melanoma under the nails may show as:
• A dark vertical streak or band
• Pigmentation on a single nail that changes over time

Get to know your skin. Check it monthly for anything new, unusual, or changing — including your feet and nails!

If in doubt, get it checked out!
