Suzanne Hunton, Funeral Celebrant I am a fully-qualified independent funeral celebrant, and member of The Institute of Civil Funerals.

I aim to deliver a meaningful, individual ceremony for your loved one by working with you and your family to craft a perfect and entirely unique farewell. I am a professionally-trained and accredited funeral celebrant based in Stockton-on-Tees. I have a background in both public speaking and creative writing, and I pride myself on my ability to work with clients to craft and deliver a unique and appropriate funeral ceremony with sensitivity, creativity and empathy.

The client asked people to wear pink today, and I asked if I could too! It was an honour to say goodbye to a lovely lady whose husband passed last year - I'd also conducted his funeral. It was a beautiful sunny day, and a gentle, sweet ceremony to celebrate a life well-lived.

I had the incredible privilege of being the celebrant for a dear friend's funeral today (he was also a celebrant, so I felt I had to be at my *very* best...), and travelled to the other side of the country with lovely husband at my side. 'Bright colours' were requested, so I went for an entire rainbow! The entrance song was 'Better Off Dead' by Elton John, which was an incredible and truly fitting choice - I love this job!

In the pink to attend a 'Death Café' at a local library this morning (headband worn on the journey to get my errant fringe to behave...). It's a great drop-in held once a month to allow people to get together and discuss all things deathly, and to demystify the topic.
Although it's open to everyone, it was an all-women gathering, reminding me that it's always pretty much been women working behind the scenes at the gateways to both life and death. 🖤💀🖤
