🌍 World Humanitarian Day – 19 August

Today we recognise World Humanitarian Day and the people who provide vital support to communities affected by conflict, disasters and emergencies around the world.

Humanitarian workers often operate in incredibly difficult and dangerous circumstances, helping people access healthcare, food, shelter and other essential support.

Today is an opportunity to say thank you to humanitarian workers everywhere and to remember the importance of compassion, dignity and solidarity. ❤️

World Humanitarian Day is a global celebration of people helping people. It is intended to raise public awareness of humanitarian assistance worldwide and the people who risk their lives in order to provide it.

💚 Samaritans Awareness Day 💚 24 July

Today is Samaritans Awareness Day (24/7): a reminder that someone is always there to listen, day or night. The date reflects the charity's commitment to being available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for anyone who needs support.

A simple conversation can make a real difference. If someone you know doesn't seem themselves, take a moment to check in, listen without judgement, and let them know they don't have to face things alone.

Whether you're struggling yourself or supporting someone else, help is always available.
