💌 For the carers who are tired

To the carer who is tired today…
We see you.
We know some days are harder than others.
We know you can finish one call and immediately have to get back in the car for the next.
We know you sometimes give more of yourself than anyone realises.
And we know that behind every uniform is a human being too.
So if nobody has said it to you today:
Thank you.
Thank you for showing up.
Thank you for caring.
Thank you for trying.

And thank you for making a difference — even on the days when you don't feel like you have. 💜

“The moments nobody sees”

Some of the most important moments in care never get photographed.
The carer quietly making someone smile.
The hand held for a few seconds longer.
The reassurance given when someone is frightened.
The patience when a person is having a difficult day.
The “don't worry, I've got you.”
The little conversation that means far more than anyone realises.
Those moments don't always make it into the records.

But they are often the moments people remember most. 🌷

“One day it might be us”

One day, it might be us who needs someone to knock on the door.
Someone to help us when our hands aren't as steady as they used to be.
Someone to listen when we tell the same story twice.
Someone to remind us to take our medication.
Someone to help us keep our independence for a little longer.
And when that day comes, we won't care how quickly someone completed a task.
We'll care about how they treated us.

So let's give people the kind of care we'd hope to receive ourselves. 💜

“At the end of the day”

At the end of a long shift, a carer might think:

“I've only done my job.”

But somewhere tonight, someone is warmer because you helped them get ready for bed.
Someone has taken their medication because you were there.
Someone has eaten because you encouraged them.
Someone has smiled because you made them laugh.
Someone's family is sleeping a little easier because they know you visited.
You might think you just finished your shift.

Someone else might think you made their day. 💜

“The daughter who can breathe”

Sometimes the person receiving care isn't the only person we're caring for.
It's the daughter who can finally go to work knowing Mum is safe.
It's the son who doesn't have to worry during his shift.
It's the husband who gets a little bit of rest because someone else is there to help.
It's the family member who can finally take a breath.
Good care doesn't just support one person.

It supports the people who love them too.

A Yellow Weather Warning for thunderstorms and heavy rain is in place across parts of England and Wales today. The Met Office is warning of heavy downpours, thunder, lightning and the possibility of localised flooding.

To all our Cera Care carers, please take extra care when travelling between calls. 🚗💨

🌧️ Allow extra time for your journeys
⚡ Be aware of sudden changes in conditions
🚗 Take extra care on wet and flooded roads
📱 Keep an eye on weather updates
💜Most importantly, please don't take unnecessary risks

And to all our clients and families — please stay safe, stay warm and, if the weather gets particularly bad, make sure you are somewhere safe and sheltered.
Our carers have enough adventures getting through the rota without Mother Nature joining in! 😂🌧️
