We had a great Steps Forward group meeting at The Cafe Fenton this afternoon with Anthony Jenkinson. Huge thanks to Ben Husdan for his hospitality and incredible food.

We would like to also take this opportunity to wish Mandy Dobson a farewell on her new journey! She has been wonderful and over the time with us
achieved her Volunteer Recognition award we nominated her for with Support Staffordshire, Mandy showed us her creative side by always coming up with new ideas and we will miss the weekly quiz at Tea & Toast! Thank you Mandy from all of us at WTA 🧡

A round up of this weeks activities. We had our steering group meeting discussing this years Christmas Fayre and Christmas Meal in partnership with Fulford Parish Council and St Francis Church, our weekly Longton Park Walk with Walk Leader Steven Wraxton and today's Tea & Toast (believe it or not we didn't get any photos!) However the Toast was wonderful and company was as always, the best!

Tomorrow we have our Steps Forward group meeting at The Cafe Fenton ST4 3FA, with Anthony Jenkinson and the gang! For anyone who has completed an application form we would love you to attend (1pm - 3pm) for friendly conversation

Our Longton Park Walk last week...!

Today, Walk Leader Steven Wraxton will be there 😀 as will the squirrels awaiting nuts I'm sure! And seeds for the ducks! Followed by a cuppa at Forresters.

A wonderful group and a very light hearted walk to get you out and break up the day. If you ever fancy it this is one walk you can come too and feel at ease, relaxed and certain of a friendly atmosphere 🥰

A lovely workshop and introduction to a brand new project with from Capturing Remembrance. This is a project that is bringing memories alive by Capturing the moments in time people remember with their family and friends that will be presented at the in November. The GRAIN Project is working with many organisations in collaboration to bring all the memories together to highlight the importance of our memories and those who meant so much to people. It is truly a great project to be involved in.

In true style we have linked them to other organisations we felt would be beneficial to this particular project and look forwards to seeing the presentation in November.

A fantastic meeting last week with Naomi Parton, Head of Foundation from Port Vale FC. Building relationships with organisations are key to creating collaborative working partnerships across the city. With a lot of common ground discussed and a tour, it was a very positive meeting.

💚 Today is World Su***de Prevention Day.

It’s a day to remind ourselves that simply being there for someone can make a difference.

Across Stoke-on-Trent South, there are brilliant local groups creating spaces where people can talk, listen and support each other.

Groups like Andys Man Club, Walk Talk Action, CRT Stoke-on-Trent, alongside many other community organisations, charities, sports clubs and volunteers, are helping people feel less alone and giving people somewhere to turn when things are difficult.

We should never underestimate the importance of asking someone how they are, listening without judgement, or simply letting them know they’re not on their own.

A conversation can save a life.

Today there is our weekly group at The Cafe Fenton with Anthony Jenkinson and Co. 1pm - 3pm.

Pop along and meet some of the WTA Advocates, ask questions, but most importantly, just sit and relax for an hour or two!

There is some great food and drink in the cafe too which is always a bonus!
