Take time for your own self care
"Rest and self-care are so important. When you take time replenish your spirit, it allows you to serve others from the overflow. You cannot serve from an empty vessel.” -- Eleanor Brownn

🌿 SEPTEMBER — WELLBEING MONTH 🌿

💚 Let’s talk about Emotional Wellbeing 💚

Our emotional wellbeing is just as important as our physical health, yet it’s something we often put to one side.

Life can feel overwhelming at times. We juggle work, family, relationships, responsibilities and everything in between — and sometimes we simply forget to check in with ourselves.

This September, take a moment to pause and ask yourself:

✨ How am I really feeling?
✨ What do I need right now?
✨ Have I given myself permission to rest?
✨ Who can I talk to when things feel difficult?
✨ What brings me peace, comfort or joy?

Remember, you don’t have to have everything figured out. It’s okay to have difficult days. It’s okay to ask for help. And it’s okay to put yourself first sometimes.

🌸 Self-care isn’t selfish. It’s essential.

You cannot pour from an empty cup, so make time to refill yours. Whether that’s taking a quiet walk, enjoying some time alone, talking to someone you trust, getting enough rest, or simply taking a few deep breaths — those little moments matter.

💫 This September, make your emotional wellbeing a priority.

Be kind to yourself.
Listen to your needs.
Give yourself the same compassion you give to others. ❤️

🌸 SELF-CARE ISN’T SELFISH 🌸

In the busyness of everyday life, self-care is often the first thing we neglect.

We give our time, energy and love to our partners, children, family, friends, work and everyone around us. ❤️

But how often do we stop and ask ourselves… “What do I need?”

It’s so easy to put everyone else’s needs before our own, but there is something important we need to remember:

✨ We cannot fill another cup from our own empty vessel. ✨

Taking time for yourself isn’t selfish.
Resting isn’t lazy.
Setting boundaries isn’t wrong.
And asking for support doesn’t make you weak.

Self-care is about replenishing your own energy so that you can continue to show up for the people and things you love — without completely losing yourself along the way. 🌿

So today, give yourself permission to pause.
Take a breath.
Rest.
Do something that makes you feel good.

Because you matter too. 💗

🌸 Your wellbeing deserves a place on your priority list.

The difference between MLD vodder technique and Godoy & Godoy technique.

The Vodder Method uses light, rhythmic, circular, and sweeping hand movements to gently clear lymph pathways.

In contrast, the Godoy & Godoy technique replaces circular motions with strict, single-direction linear movements along the lymphatic pathways to actively increase interstitial pressure and fluid mobilization.

Core Movement StylesVodder Technique:Uses stationary circles, pump, rotary, and scoop strokes.Relies on a gentle active pressure phase followed by a complete relaxation phase while maintaining skin contact.Clears proximal (closer to the core) lymph pathways first before moving to distal areas.

Godoy & Godoy Technique:Uses precise linear hand movements sliding along the anatomical path of the vessels toward lymph nodes.Applies consistent, calculated pressure to promote lymph formation by raising interstitial pressure.Frequently begins treatment at the furthest part of a limb and moves inward.

Application and ApproachVodder Technique:Created in the 1930s by Emil Vodder.Considered the baseline, highly unified traditional method for general edema, relaxation, and immune support.

Godoy & Godoy Technique:Developed in Brazil by Drs. José Maria Pereira de Godoy and Maria de Fátima Guerreiro Godoy.Often coupled with mechanical apparatuses (automated/mechanical lymph drainage) and specialised non-elastic containment instruments like grosgrain garments.
Extensively studied with heavy emphasis on treating severe clinical stages of lymphedema and post-surgical rehabilitation.
