September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month 🗓️

This month we shine a light on childhood cancers. Although rare, they can have a profound impact on children and their families. Awareness, early detection, and support make a real difference.

Every day in the UK, 10 children and young people will receive the devastating news that they have cancer. Of those 10, two will not survive. Of those that survive, many will have long-term side-effects that may significantly impact their lives forever.

September is World Alzheimer's Month, with World Alzheimer's Day taking place on 21 September each year.

▪️ Dementia is the UK's biggest killer, it affects us all and it devastates lives.
▪️ Every 3 minutes someone in the UK develops dementia.
▪️1 in 3 people born in the UK today will go on to develop dementia in their lifetime.

Each person experiences dementia in their own individual way. Different types of dementia also tend to affect people differently, especially in the early stages.

Alzheimer's Society are leading the way to create a future where dementia no longer devastates lives, bringing together people from all the spheres of life it touches. 💙

September is Gynaecological Cancer Awareness Month.

During the month, charities raise awareness of gynaecological cancers, which includes ovarian cancer, cervical cancer, uterine cancer, vaginal cancer and vulvar cancer.

Ovarian cancer is the UK's deadliest gynaecological disease, taking the lives of more women per year than all the other gynae cancers combined.
