September is Blood Cancer Awareness Month, a campaign dedicated to raising awareness about leukaemia, lymphoma, and myeloma, the most common types of blood cancer. 🩸

The campaign aims to:
▪️ Educate the public about the signs and symptoms of blood cancer.
▪️ Encourage early diagnosis, which can significantly improve treatment outcomes.
▪️ Support patients and families living with blood cancer, providing information, resources, and emotional support.
▪️ Raise funds for research to find better treatments and improve survival rates.
▪️Challenge misconceptions and stigma around blood cancer, making it easier for people to seek help.

Dr Harbidge and Partners would like to thank all of our patients who provided honest and valuable feedback through our Friends & Family Test last month. It is lovely to read so many positive comments about our team!

We’re dedicated to providing you with the best possible care and experience. One of the key ways we do this is through the NHS Friends and Family Test. This allows us to gather your valuable feedback, which helps us continually review and improve our services.

Your thoughts and opinions are incredibly important to us. By sharing your experiences, what you enjoy and areas where we can improve, you’re helping us make positive changes. This ensures we can offer the highest quality care to all our patients.

Thank you again for your support, and we look forward to continuing to provide you with the best service possible!

Thank you to all patients who attended their appointments last month.

Our DNA (did not attend) figures for last month can be seen here.

It makes a dramatic difference to us here at Kidsgrove Medical Centre and also to the NHS as a whole if you inform us in good time that you are unable to attend your appointment, we then may be able to offer the slot to another patient.

The impacts it can have if you do not attend or inform us of cancellation of your appointment:
➡ Increase in waiting time for appointments
➡ Frustration for both staff and patients
➡ A waste of resource
➡ A potential risk to the health of the patient
➡ Each missed GP appointment costs the NHS an average of £30 per person
