Diversity: Recognising, respecting, and actively supporting individual differences through our work practices and protocols. Safety: Meeting all health and safety obligations within our establishment. Staff: Ensuring all our sonographers meet high standards in specialising in well-being, gender, and 4D pregnancy scans. Ultrasound Scanning

Ultrasound uses very high-frequency sound waves, beyond the perception of the human ear, so your baby will not be aware of the scan. 3D and 4D ultrasound use the same technology as hospital 2D ultrasound scanning.

2D Ultrasound: Provides imaging in two dimensions, used for diagnostic examinations.
3D Ultrasound: Offers three-dimensional still images.
4D Ultrasound: Adds the fourth dimension, showing real-time movement of your baby in the womb. We are privileged to offer you and your family a unique and realistic first look at your baby with our 3D/4D ultrasound baby scans. Just as safe as traditional 2D scans, our 3D/4D/HD ultrasound scans, combined with our years of experience, trained team, and advanced equipment, let you get up close and personal with your unborn baby. From a yawn to a stretch, these sessions provide a realistic introduction to your baby in their protected world.

4D Ultrasound Fact Sheet

4D technology uses sound waves beyond human hearing, ensuring your baby is unaware of the scan. For clear imaging, a pool of amniotic fluid around the baby’s face is needed. The best 4D images are obtained when the baby is in a face-up position. Images can be affected by factors like the umbilical cord, hands, feet, or the baby's position against the womb or placenta. To improve image clarity, we may ask you to roll onto your side or take a walk to encourage the baby to move. Our policy is to do our best on the day, which sometimes means scans may overrun. Please be patient, as every client is important to us. Our clinic offers pregnancy scans at all gestations from 6 to 40 weeks, and all our sonographers are fully trained in clinical and diagnostic ultrasound. Every scan begins with a baby well-being check. If any potential issues are detected, we will explain them fully and communicate with your midwife with your permission. HD Ultrasound

HD ultrasound, available in selected clinics, uses the latest technology for high-definition imaging. Our Scanning Machines

Our ultrasound scanner is a powerful computer that interprets reflected high-frequency sound waves into 3D pictures and adds the fourth dimension to give real-time moving images. HD stands for High Definition. Safety

We prioritise the safety of you and your baby, adopting the A.L.A.R.A (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) protocol. This means our scanners are set at the lowest levels necessary to obtain great images. We also follow BMUS (British Medical Ultrasound Society) guidelines for non-diagnostic, bonding scans, and do not scan before 16 weeks. firstScan

first Scan offers private ultrasound and blood testing services across the UK, specialising in general health blood testing, general health scans and women's health scans. Offerings include advanced scans such as abdominal and pelvic ultrasounds, along with comprehensive blood tests for fertility, virology, thyroid function, and general health. You will never regret keeping one of these from your pregnancy… 🥹🤍

Our heartbeat teddies are SO popular… because who wouldn’t want to keep the sound of their baby’s heartbeat forever? 🧸

A little keepsake from such a special time that you can listen back to whenever you want - even long after your little one is here.

September is PMOS Awareness Month 🩵

PMOS is the updated name for the condition previously known as PCOS (Polycystic O***y Syndrome) - this updated in May this year.

Irregular periods, persistent acne, excess hair growth, thinning hair or difficulty conceiving… these are all things that can sometimes be brushed off as “just hormones.”… But they can also be associated with PMOS.

PMOS can look different for every woman, and you don’t need to experience every symptom for something to be worth investigating.

If you’ve noticed changes in your cycle or body, don’t ignore them. You can book a well woman scan with us to skip the NHS waitlists for scans, and get answers you’ve been looking for…

This month, let’s get more women talking about their health and knowing what’s normal for their body. DM us PMOS for more info 🫶

You know your body better than anyone… 🙏

If something doesn’t feel right, you shouldn’t have to spend months wondering, while waiting for a scan or to be seen by a doctor.

Our Well Woman Scan allows you to self-refer, giving you the opportunity to gain reassurance or identify common gynaecological conditions sooner.

If we find anything that needs medical follow-up, we’ll provide a report you can take straight to your GP.

Sometimes the biggest relief isn’t just finding an answer… it’s finally knowing what’s going on.

To book a scan head to the link in our bio, or DM us WELL WOMAN for more info 🤍
