👥💚 OUR RESIDENTS HAVE THEIR SAY! 💚👥

At Agnes & Arthur, we believe our residents should have a voice in the decisions that directly affect their home and that includes who joins our amazing team! 🏡✨

Following an initial interview with our management team and department leaders, potential new team members are invited back to meet some very important people… our residents! 👏

Our residents take part in a second interview, asking the questions that matter to them, including:

💬 "Why do you want to work in a care home?"
💬 "What makes you think you are suitable to care for me and others?"
💬 "Do you know how to help me if I am hurt or feeling low?"
💬 "How would you make my day better?"
💬 And, of course, many more!

This is a wonderful opportunity for our residents to express their views, ask questions and share what they feel is important when welcoming someone new into their home ❤️

It's also a great reminder that recruitment isn't simply about finding someone with the right skills, it's about finding people who will listen, care, respect individuality and help make Agnes & Arthur a place our residents are proud to call home. 🌟

Our residents' voices matter, and we're proud to give them a meaningful role in shaping the team around them.

Who better to have a say in who joins our home than the people who live here? 💙🏡

🌱💚 Growing Our Community Connections at Agnes and Arthur! 💚🌱

We're delighted to be building new connections with the amazing team at Matters! 🤝

We're exploring exciting opportunities for our residents to join their weekly groups from Ladies Who Craft 🧶 to helping grow local produce at the Root 'n' Fruit allotment 🌻🥕. We're also looking forward to welcoming members of the community into our home and finding ways for our residents to volunteer and give back.

Living in a care home shouldn't mean losing your connection with the world around you. Our residents have so much to offer — skills, memories, talents, laughter, kindness and life experiences. We want to create opportunities for these to continue to be shared. 🥰

For us, it's about so much more than activities — it's about friendship, purpose, belonging and feeling connected. We hope these new relationships will help reduce loneliness, support mental health and wellbeing, and create wonderful new memories ❤️

We can't wait to see what grows from these connections! 🌱💚

🚤💙 A Wonderful Day Afloat on the Beatrice! 💙🚤

What a truly wonderful day our residents had aboard the Beatrice Charity Boat Trip! 🛥️

We were incredibly grateful to the amazing volunteers who welcomed us aboard and sailed us along the canal, sharing their time and making the experience so special.

The weather certainly wasn’t on our side, but that didn’t stop us from making the most of every moment! 🌧️ We sang along, admired the beautiful scenery, enjoyed a picnic-style lunch and even had a little dance in the rain! 💃🎶

And just as we reached the end of our trip, the sun decided to make an appearance! ☀️

There was plenty of laughter, singing, dancing and wonderful memories made along the way. A truly special day that we won’t forget. 💙

A huge thank you to the wonderful Beatrice volunteers for supporting our residents and staff and giving them such a fantastic experience! 🌟🚤

🌟 Making Memories Beyond Our Home! 🌟

What a wonderful range of outings our residents have enjoyed recently!

From singing our hearts out with our friends at Port Vale Dementia Choir 🎶, sharing smiles and laughter, to enjoying the excitement of watching our favourite actors on the big screen at Odeon 🎬🍿

We've also stepped back in time with a visit to our local museum, where we had the opportunity to see the amazing Spitfire up close and learn more about the history surrounding it. ✈️ We even enjoyed historic films telling the stories of those who lived through the war — moments that sparked memories and reflection. ❤️

And sometimes it's the simple everyday outings that mean just as much. Our residents enjoyed a trip to the local shops to pick up their essential shopping 🛍 followed by stopping for a lovely lunch together — enjoying good food, conversation and each other's company. 🥰

Every outing is about so much more than simply going somewhere. It's about choice, independence, connection, memories and continuing to enjoy life within our local community. 🌈

Here's to many more adventures, plenty more laughter and lots of wonderful memories to make together! ❤️

💇‍♀️💅 A Little Pampering at the Salon! 💅💇‍♂️

Our ladies and gents have been enjoying some well-deserved pampering! From fresh haircuts with our wonderful Lisa and Jemma to relaxing nail care with our Activity Coordinators, everyone has been able to sit back, relax and enjoy a little time for themselves.

There were plenty of smiles, lovely chats and of course, lots of feeling fabulous afterwards! ❤️

Because sometimes, it's the little moments of self-care that make the biggest difference. 🌸

Our recent birthday celebrations have been made even more wonderful thanks to our amazing kitchen team, who have been busy creating the most beautiful and delicious birthday cakes for our residents.

Every cake is made with care, creativity and a whole lot of love, helping to make each birthday a truly special and memorable occasion ❤️

A huge thank you to our wonderful kitchen team for all the time, effort and love you put into making our residents' celebrations so special. We are so lucky to have you! 💕

It's the little moments that often mean the most.

From feeling pampered with fresh haircuts and beautiful nails 💅 sharing laughter over friendly card games 🃏 keeping active with our exercise sessions 💪 enjoying the comfort and companionship of pet therapy 🐾 and celebrating those special birthday moments 🎂...

To also getting out and about on outings to our favourite places, creating memories and enjoying everything our local community has to offer 🚌❤️

Every smile, every laugh, every conversation and every shared moment is a memory to treasure.

We may call them activities, but to us, they are so much more… they are moments of happiness, connection, purpose and belonging ❤️

A huge thank you to our lovely MJ, who kindly purchased a selection of delicious cakes for all of our hardworking staff at Agnes and Arthur to enjoy! 🧁🍫

It was such a thoughtful gesture and a wonderful reminder that sometimes the smallest acts of kindness can bring the biggest smiles.

Our team work incredibly hard caring for our residents each and every day, so it was lovely to take a little moment to share some cake, spread some joy and show our appreciation for one another. ❤️

🌻✨ Goodbye August! ✨🌻

What a wonderful month we’ve had! ❤️ We’ve made so many lovely memories, from visits from our furry friends, pampering sessions, outings to our favourite places, our fantastic Summer Fair 🎪 and visits from our wonderful entertainers who have kept us singing, dancing and smiling! 🎶💃

We’ve also enjoyed plenty of precious one-to-one time, card games, laughter and, of course, our beloved Bingo! 🎉🎱

Thank you August for all the smiles, fun and wonderful memories. ❤️ Bring on September! 🍂✨
