July has been a brilliant month at Agnes and Arthur!

Supporting our residents to keep doing the things they love and remain independent is at the heart of everything we do. This July alone our residents have been busy getting out and about in so many wonderful ways.

From supporting essential shopping trips, to group lunches out, friendly bowling competitions at Tenpin and a trip to the snooker hall, our residents have been living life to the full. We have also been so proud to share the gift of music as part of our dementia choir group, visiting residents in local care homes and bringing joy through song.

Every outing, every laugh, every moment of connection matters. We are incredibly proud of each and every one of our residents for embracing every opportunity that comes their way.

This is what life at Agnes and Arthur looks like. 💛

🎶💙 There is something truly special about the power of music.

For people living with dementia, music can unlock treasured memories, lift mood, reduce anxiety, encourage communication, and create meaningful moments of connection. Even when words become difficult, a familiar song can bring comfort, confidence, and joy.

Many of our residents attend the The Port Vale Dementia Choir. It provides a welcoming, supportive environment where people living with dementia, along with their families, friends, and carers, can come together through the shared love of music. It's a place where everyone is included, friendships are formed, and no one has to face the journey alone.

We love attending the group and look forward to singing together every week 🎵💙

Following votes from our residents, staff, and family members, we're delighted to announce our new Resident Representative. 💚

Our new resident representative is looking forward to embracing her new role, where she'll be the voice of our residents, sharing their thoughts, ideas and feedback with the management team. Together, we'll continue to shape a home that reflects the wishes, interests, and wellbeing of everyone who lives here.

✨ A truly unforgettable day on the water! 🚤🌿

Some of our wonderful residents enjoyed a peaceful canal trip aboard the Joshua Day Boat, taking in the breathtaking scenery as we gently cruised along the beautiful waterways. We loved spotting the lively wildlife, exchanging smiles and waves with passers-by, and making the most of the sunshine with a delicious picnic lunch together.

A real highlight of the day was the opportunity to stand at the helm and steer the boat. We would like to thank Chris for his kindness, patience, and reassurance which helped our residents feel at ease and gave them the confidence to enjoy the unforgettable experience of steering the boat from the helm

Days like these are about so much more than a trip out. They encourage conversation, confidence, connection with nature, and the opportunity to create lasting memories together. 💙

Our ladies enjoyed a wonderful pamper day, starting with a visit from our amazing hairdresser, Lisa, who had everyone looking and feeling their absolute best with beautiful haircuts and styling. 💇‍♀️✨

The pampering didn't stop there! Our Activities Team continued the treats with relaxing nail care, each lady choose their favourite nail colour to add the perfect finishing touch. 💅

We rounded off the day with an afternoon of creativity, trying a brand-new activity for the very first time – shadow drawing! Using light and shadows to create unique artwork, our ladies explored their creativity while developing hand-eye coordination, concentration and fine motor skills It also encouraged conversation, imagination and a wonderful sense of achievement as each masterpiece came to life.

A day full of self-care, smiles, creativity and making special memories together. ❤️

As the final whistle blew last night on another unforgettable World Cup season, one thing remains stronger than ever—the spirit, laughter, and togetherness we've shared here at Agnes and Arthur ⚽❤️

This World Cup has been about so much more than football. It's been about bringing people together, creating unforgettable memories, and celebrating the joy of community.

Together we've baked delicious football-themed treats to enjoy while we watch the matches, weve tested our knowledge with football quizzes, held our very own penalty shoot-outs, reminisced about World Cups gone by, and cheered on our favourite teams every step of the way. We've laughed, celebrated, and shared stories that have brought smiles to everyone around us.

We also came together to create videos that captured hearts across the country, going viral and even leading to live interviews with BBC Radio Stoke! We were delighted with some delicious surprises from Pukka Pies, and it was a privilege to make special memories alongside our wonderful friends from the Port Vale Dementia Choir.

These moments remind us that the greatest victories aren't always won on the pitch—they're found in friendship, laughter, kindness, and the connections we make every day.

Thank you to everyone who has followed our journey and celebrated with us throughout the
tournament. While the World Cup may have come to an end, the smiles, friendships, and community spirit we've built will continue.

What a wonderful performance we enjoyed from Luke Gessner, who delighted us with a fantastic selection of swing music. Our residents and staff thoroughly loved every moment, singing along, dancing, and enjoying the wonderful atmosphere he created. His talent, energy, and engaging style made for a truly memorable occasion.

Thank you, Luke, for bringing so much joy and entertainment to everyone!

🎶⚽ "Love's got the world in motion..." ⚽🎶

Our amazing team at Agnes and Arthur couldn't resist getting together to recreate the iconic World in Motion by New Order! 💃🕺

There were plenty of laughs, lots of team spirit, and maybe even a few hidden talents! 🤩

We're all behind the Three Lions and wishing the lads the very best of luck tonight!
