We are overwhelmed with pride and gratitude to announce that Westcroft Nursing Home has officially been awarded the Gold Standards Framework (GSF) Quality Hallmark Award in end-of-life care - achieving a perfect 100% score on our very first accreditation! 🏅🎉

While the full marks are incredible, what matters most to us is what this score truly represents: the profound heart, warmth, and devotion our team brings to Westcroft every single day. Providing end-of-life care is one of the most sacred responsibilities we have, and we believe with all our hearts that every resident deserves to be surrounded by comfort and dignity in life’s later stages.

The assessment panel praised the complete dedication across our entire home:

Just a reminder that our 80s retro day is coming up next Thursday, 13th August! 🥳
Expect neon decor, shell suits, leg warmers, and plenty of classic 80s tunes. Plus, Amy will be leading a super fun seated dance class at 11am to get everyone grooving to their favourite throwbacks! 🎶🕺
It’s going to be a brilliant day full of nostalgia, music, and laughter. See you on the (seated) dance floor! 🪩✨

Look who’s back! Last week, we had the absolute joy of welcoming back our favourite therapy dog, Reg, alongside his lovely owner, Ang! 🐾

After taking a well-deserved few weeks off to stay cool during the hot weather, Reg was greeted with open arms (and plenty of ear scratches!). Everyone was so thrilled to see his tail wagging through the doors again.

There’s nothing quite like a visit from a furry friend for sweet cuddles, quiet moments, and a brilliant catch-up. Thank you as always to Ang and Reg for bringing so much happiness to our home! 🐾

We had a wonderfully relaxing morning unleashing our inner artists with a spot of pottery painting! 🖌️
Our residents spent the morning painting lovely miniature teacups. But the fun doesn't stop there - over the coming weeks, we’ll be turning these beautiful hand-painted cups into tiny planters for autumn flowers! 🪴

This week, we said a very fond farewell to our amazing volunteer, Ava, as she embarks on her dream career path as a trainee dental nurse! 🌟

Ava has been volunteering at Westcroft for over two years, bringing so much warmth, energy, and dedication to our home. She has made a huge impact on the lives of our residents and team, and we are endlessly grateful for everything she’s done during her time with us.

We couldn't let her go without a proper send-off! Check out the video of Lauren sharing a few words of thanks, surprising Ava with cards, gifts, from the Westcroft family. 🎁

Ava, you will be missed so very much! It has been an absolute pleasure working alongside you, and we know you’re going to be a fantastic dental nurse! ✨

Calling our Westcroft community - you are all warmly invited to join us for our Seaside Day on August 6th!
It’s going to be a brilliant day starting with live music, fundraisers, sensory games and a tasty BBQ.

As a reminder, you can still enter our £1 Cake Raffle in the entrance hall or buy £1 Tombola strips from Lauren up until the draw on August 6th. We can't wait to welcome you to Westcroft for a fantastic seaside celebration! 🌊☀️
