🐾 Today is International Dog Day

We love seeing the different ways our locations find opportunities to bring people together and enjoy the company of our four-legged friends – like this recent dog competition at The Manor House Roundhay.

It has been a truly special month across Anchor care homes, with residents marking some remarkable milestone birthdays surrounded by family, friends and colleagues.

At Anchor - Hatton Grange in Hyde, we celebrated three extraordinary birthdays in the space of just a few weeks. Irene Moore turned 101, Blanche Harrison celebrated her 104th birthday, and Margaret Wood reached the incredible age of 105.

Meanwhile, at Anchor - Wharfeside in Otley, Edwin Webster marked his 100th birthday with a celebration in the home's Garden Room. At Anchor - Beechfield Lodge in Salford, Elsie Goodall celebrated her 109th birthday, making her the oldest resident in our care.

Each celebration was filled with joy, from birthday cake and live entertainment to visits from local mayors. Family, friends and colleagues came together to make every occasion memorable and each resident received a birthday card from His Majesty The King.

These milestone birthdays are a wonderful reminder of the stories, experiences and contributions our residents bring to our communities every day.

A very happy birthday to everyone celebrating these incredible milestones and thank you to our colleagues for helping make each day so special.

💜 A very special trip down memory lane at Bethune Court! 💜

At our open day our Deputy Manager Michaela recreated a very special picture with her mum from over 30 years ago 📸 🥰

The photo was taken in the back garden where Michaela’s Mum used to come and sing over 30 years ago!

Fast forward 30 years and they’re back in the same garden! 🌺
Just one thing missing……. the ice cream! 😂 🍦
