🦠The RSV vaccines helps protect against Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV), a common virus that can make babies and older adults seriously ill.🦠

Who is eligable?
🦠Patients who are aged 75 years and over
🦠Patients aged 65-74 and have a weakened immune system or long-term lung condition
🦠If you are pregnant (from 28 weeks)

⏰ Missed Appointments Means Wasted Clinic Time⏰

During the month of August 121 patients booked GP and Nursing appointments but did not attend. These missed appointments included specialist clinics that have waiting lists as well as normal appointments.

Altogether, missed appointments added up to 38 hours and 15 minutes of wasted clinic time.
This included:

🩹 17 hours 45 minutes of Nurse & Healthcare Assistant clinic time
🩺 3 hours 20 minutes of GP, Nurse Practitioner & Physician Associate clinic time
💊 1 hour 15 minutes of Pharmacist clinic time
🏥 3 hours of Physiotherapy, Mental Health Practitioner & Social Prescriber clinic time

If you have booked an appointment but can no longer attend, please contact the Health Centre to let us know as soon as you are able so that other patients can book in

We send questionnaires via text message to patients after most appointments - where we ask how they found the Surgery overall

In August we received 390 responses of which the responses were as follows:

😐 Neither Good Nor Poor: 4 responses
❓ Don’t Know: 0 responses
👎 Poor: 0 responses
😟 Very Poor: 2 responses

This means that 98.5% of responses rated their experience as either Very Good or Good

We read all of your comments and share these with the team and appreciate you taking the time to send these back.
If you cannot complete the online form we also have paper questionnaires and a postbox on the desk in reception and there is a feedback form on our website too

🩷Have you missed your recent cervical screening?🩷

Cervical screening is one of the best ways to protect yourself from cervical cancer, so it’s important to take up your invitation when it arrives.

If you’ve missed your cervical screening, the NHS may invite you to take an HPV self-test instead. If invited, you can order a kit, take your sample at home or somewhere private, and return it free by post.

You can’t opt in to HPV self-testing – if you’re eligible, the NHS will contact you

💉What can you expect?
If we have a mobile number for you, you will receive a text message with a booking link over the next couple of weeks.
If you do not have a mobile phone and only have a landline, a member of our team will telephone you to arrange your appointment.

💉Who is eligible for a flu vaccination?
Patients aged 65 years and over
Patients aged 18–64 years who are in an eligible clinical risk group

💉Who is eligible for a COVID-19 vaccination?
Patients aged 75 years and over
Please note

Patients who are pregnant, and children and young people aged 6 months to 18 years, will be invited for their vaccinations from September 2026.
