So I thought I knew what it was like to show grit and determination in hard circumstances.

However Sunday took things to another level.

I have been inspired by many athletes, business people, and individuals far and wide but not really known what they might have gone through.

Until Sunday. For 10 years I've wanted to run a marathon for . I knew it would be tough because I'm not a natural runner.

But my word I had to dig deep to get round!

So to those that have a goal, a change you want to make, something big you want to achieve. Just. Have. A. Go.

Because there is always a way. And I promise you can find it.

Massive congrats to everyone that ran in Edinburgh - we did it πŸ™Œ

Courage to start.
Strength to endure.
Resolve to finish.

25 years ago an elderly resident I worked with in one of my first jobs as a Healthcare Worker painted this planet for me. It's now taken pride of place in our new premises, finally framed.

I always said I would frame it one day and put it up at work. It's taken me a long time - but I've done it and it means the world to me.

The resident was detained in a medium secure unit for the whole of his adult life for a serious crime he'd committed as a teenager. He said he didnt understand why I took time to listen to his worries.

He was so grateful for the non-judgemental approach, the fact I took an interest in his art. I learnt alot about resilience from him too.

I've never forgotten him and how my approach helped him feel better. I always treat everyone I work with as an individual and my goal is to help them discover things about themselves....

And so thats on our door.

Welcome to Discovering You. A place for every individual.

Looking at the official photos and seeing the medal πŸ… remind me every day of the achievement.

I am a slow runner, I get round comfortably and I know my goal. πŸ’™ I'm really proud of what I achieved 😌

But you don't have to run to achieve, progress can be noted everywhere. Training and completing this has reminded me of the importance of something else.... How the brain deals with knockbacks and pushes through when it get tough is all about visualising 🧠

Knowing what you want to do and keeping that in the forefront of your mind helps with so many things πŸ™Œ

Feeling and thinking proud is so powerful. When things get hard our brains are our best tool in allowing us to imagine "what could be"? ....and then getting there ❀️

And if you don't? Change the goal and shift your focus - never give up πŸ’ͺ

The weekend of the London Landmarks Half Marathon has arrived!! The first half I ever ran and the run that led to my fascination with distance running πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Tomorrow it's the return of this fantastic half marathon and a big step towards my marathon in Edinburgh on 24/5/26. 🏴󠁧󠁒󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

21km in the beautiful big city of London. It's not about the time, it's about raising awareness and vital funds to help the 1000s of children affected by their parent's addiction.πŸ’”

Last year we had a rise in calls to Nacoa UK when we ran this half....it just goes to show how important it is πŸ’™

A massive massive thanks to Ambition and the team for their constant support πŸ’™

But above all I would be lost without the endless help and love I get from my family They put up with a lot! 🀣

See you on the other side πŸ’ͺ
