There is a quiet strength in being easy to be around.

We often think that getting ahead means being the loudest or the toughest in the room. In truth, people remember how you made them feel. Choosing to be pleasant, respectful, and calm in difficult moments builds a kind of trust that no skill alone can create.

Letting go of arguments, constant complaining, and gossip frees up so much energy. Replacing them with small, sincere actions — a genuine smile, a kind word of appreciation, holding the door, offering help when you can, being patient on the road — slowly changes the atmosphere around you. When you make life a little lighter for others, life begins to feel lighter for you too.

This reflection was written and designed by Spirit Of Buddhism And Science.

Stillness is vital to the world of the soul. If as you age you become more still, you will discover that stillness can be a great companion. The fragments of your life will have time to unify, and the places where your soul-shelter is wounded or broken will have time to knit and heal. You will be able to return to yourself. In this stillness, you will engage your soul. Many people miss out on themselves completely as they journey through life. They know others, they know places, they know skills, they know their work, but tragically, they do not know themselves at all. Aging can be a lovely time of ripening when you actually meet yourself, indeed maybe for the first time. There are beautiful lines from T. S. Eliot that say:

'And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.'

The Bond of Spirit and Earth

In the silence of the dawn, strength rises,
A spirit not seen, but deeply felt.
The earth whispers, the winds answer,
And in the stillness, the soul is free.

Bound by no chains, yet tied to all,
Through the roots, through the sky.
Together we walk, in unity,
The pulse of the earth in every step.

The quiet is sacred, the journey clear,
Through the storms, through the calm.
In the heart of nature, we find our place—
A bond of spirit, forever strong.
