: 3 days to go! 🌻

Thank you to everyone who's sent us pictures of their sunflowers so far - it's been lovely watching them grow.

Lots of you have got involved this year, including our Director of Care, Julie, whose sunflower is now almost as tall as she is!

We really hope that by doing this, getting your hands in the soil, watering, watching, waiting and hoping that you have felt your own spirit being nurtured and that you are able to keep on some gardening after the competition has finished.

If you're growing with us, remember to send us your sunflower's height by midday on 5th August to be in with a chance of winning a garden voucher.

Found a pound coin on the pavement... walked out Β£1,000 richer. πŸ€

That's exactly what happened to Hemajith, who spotted a stray pound on his way to pick up some plants, popped into our charity shop, and put it towards a ticket for our weekly lottery. A few days later, he was doing a double-take at his own winning numbers.

"It took me a moment to realise it was mine - I couldn't believe I'd won Β£1,000!"

Fancy your own slice of luck? You can join the weekly lottery here: https://www.marystevenshospice.co.uk/support-us/hospice-lottery/ 🎟️

🎷

For the second year running, Matt Davies has come in to play jazz for our patients and families - and what a treat it is! The response speaks for itself: patients, families and staff all had something lovely to say, one family member even went round asking for requests!

Patients and families settled in with strawberries and cream and a glass of fruit punch while they listened.

Thank you, Matt, for sharing your talent with us again. We hope to see you back next year too.

: our hospice heroes!

11 year old Reuben decided to run his own street party for a World Cup sweepstake, inspired by the care his auntie Kate received from the hospice. He knocked on every door on his street, put up posters he'd designed himself, numbered up the tombola prizes, and got everyone involved with flags and a team randomiser. The result was an incredible Β£1,418.27. Thank you, Reuben!

Over at The Crown in Oldswinford, another World Cup sweepstake was raising money for us, and one very generous winner decided to give their prize money back - over £200 to support our care. Thank you to everyone there who took part. ⚽
