Emergency Appeal — Families Have Lost Everything

In the last few days there have been devastating fires in Wolverhampton, Stourbridge and Birmingham, leaving families with no belongings and no essentials.

🩷 Local councils are providing temporary accommodation, but people still need help with the basics to get through the next days and weeks.

🩷 Among those affected is an elderly couple who both live with dementia. They have lost everything in a fire this afternoon.

I have been asked if the supporters of Leslie’s Care Packages would be so kind as to help.

🩷 We are urgently raising funds to provide:

1. Primark clothing vouchers

2. Food vouchers

3. Asda vouchers for small electrical household items (kettles, toasters, simple necessities)

🩷 Any donation — no matter how big or small — will make a real difference to someone who has lost everything.

Today's sand play invitation sparked lots of curiosity and exploration! ☀️🏖️
We used a variety of tools including moulds, sieves and an ice cube tray, the children enjoyed scooping, filling, sifting and creating. Sand play is a wonderful sensory experience that encourages children to investigate different textures while strengthening their fine motor skills and hand muscles.

As they experimented with moving sand between containers, they were also developing early mathematical concepts such as measuring, comparing quantities and understanding cause and effect. The open-ended nature of sand play allows children to use their imagination, make their own discoveries and learn through hands-on experiences. 🌟

Story time sessions for pre schoolers 📚🐛

We are very excited to announce that we are partnering up with Dudley Libraries (GLL) for Pre School Story Time sessions at the Cone!!

Each story is usually less than 20 minutes long, hopefully just long enough to keep your toddler, pre-schoolers and little ones engaged, followed by a small craft.

Sessions will run fortnightly on a Tuesday at 10.30am and will last for approximately 45 minutes.

Come along and bring your little ones to join in the fun! 📚

We've been getting messy and loving it!

Connecting to nature is so calming for us all and we've had great fun making mud and stone pies as well as counting, measuring, chating about capacity and mini beasts 🐞🕷🪳
