A very special weekend at Stourport Boat Club 150th Regatta 🚣
This weekend I had the pleasure of sponsoring junior doubles at Stourport Rowing Club’s 150th anniversary regatta, and it felt particularly special to be there.
I’ve been part of the club for many years. I first started rowing in a quad before moving into a double with Jamie, and although I haven’t rowed seriously for quite some time, I’ve never really lost that connection to the water.
Watching the racing this weekend gave me goosebumps and reminded me just how much I miss being out on the river. There is definitely a part of me that is still being drawn back towards the water… so perhaps this won’t be my last time on the riverbank! 👀
More recently I’ve been connected to the club in a different way through my yoga and coaching business. I had the pleasure of running a 6-week yoga course for the rowers last winter, and I’m really looking forward to hopefully doing it again this coming winter season.
So sponsoring at this year’s regatta felt like a lovely way of giving something back to a club where I’ve always felt welcome and part of the community, even when I’ve been away from the rowing.
It was such a wonderful weekend celebrating 150 years of Stourport Rowing Club, with brilliant racing, a fantastic atmosphere and plenty of familiar faces. Having my dad, husband and friend and doubles partner Jamie there with me made it even more special. ❤️
Thank you to everyone at the club for such a memorable weekend, and congratulations on 150 years! 🎉
