IF YOUR KETTLE COULD TALK...
What would it tell us?

β˜• It would tell us who hasn't made a cup of tea today.

🏑 It would tell us who hasn't opened the curtains.

🍽️ Who is forgetting lunch.

πŸ’œ Who hasn't had anyone to chat to all week.

Sometimes it's the smallest changes that tell the biggest story.

Home care isn't just about washing, dressing or medication.

It's about noticing.

It's about listening.

It's about being there.

Because everyone deserves someone who notices.

πŸ’œ Did you know there's a fantastic local service based right here in Stowmarket for people living with memory concerns or dementia?

Shaftesbury Suffolk Memory and Dementia Support provides free information, advice and support for people living with dementia, those worried about their memory, and the families and friends who care for them. Their trained advisors offer a listening ear, practical guidance and can even visit people at home if needed. The aim is simple you only have to tell your story once, and they'll help you find the support that's right for you.

A dementia diagnosis can feel overwhelming, but it's important to remember that no one has to face it alone. Reaching out for support early can make a real difference for both the person living with dementia and those around them.

If you know someone who may benefit from this service, please share this post. You never know who might need to see it today. πŸ’œ

🍦 It's the little moments that mean the most πŸ’œ

At My Care at Home, we believe care is about so much more than helping with daily tasks. It's about companionship, laughter, making memories, and bringing a smile to someone's day.

Last week, our wonderful Field Care Supervisor, Ros, enjoyed spending time with two of our lovely clients. From enjoying an ice cream together to taking a walk in the sunshine, these simple moments are often the ones that make the biggest difference.

Seeing our clients smiling, chatting and enjoying themselves is exactly why we do what we do. πŸ’š

πŸ’œ This is why we do what we do.

Receiving messages like this means more than we can put into words.

It has been a privilege to support this family and their loved one over the years, and we are incredibly grateful that they took the time to share these kind words with us.

πŸ’œ A Message to Family carers

Some days in care are incredibly rewarding.

Some days are heartbreaking.

I've sat with families who are watching dementia slowly change someone they love. I've spoken to husbands and wives who never imagined they would one day become full-time carers. I've seen sons and daughters carrying the weight of worry, wondering if they're doing enough.

The truth is, caring for someone isn't always easy.

There are moments of frustration, exhaustion, sadness and guilt. There are days when families feel overwhelmed and don't know where to turn.

But alongside those struggles, I also see remarkable things.

I see resilience.

I see unconditional love.

I see people showing up day after day for those they care about, even when it's difficult.

One of the greatest privileges of my role is being trusted to walk alongside families during these times. Not to take away every challenge, because that's impossible, but to offer support, understanding and reassurance that they don't have to face it alone.

To anyone currently caring for a loved one: please remember to be kind to yourself too.

You are doing better than you think. ❀️
