After almost a year since the horrendous fire at the Nutshell, there is light at the end of the tunnel. This week the screed, floor and last few bricks of the wall are being dug up and cleared ready for the new floor and building work to start.

Last journey in a Land Rover hearse to Cotton Church for a gentleman who had owned many, it was lovely listening to the families stories of travelling in them with dad, a lovely fitting send off. Thanks to Mark from Land Rover Hearse hire once again for his lovely Land Rover.

40 people attended our bereavement friendship group ritz style tea this afternoon, everyone had a wonderful time. Hosted and organised superbly by Bev food prepared by Bev, Becky and Heidi, well done🙌🙌

Excellent day yesterday, completed the London to Brighton bike ride in scorching heat, Thank you so much to everyone who has kindly sponsored me, it is very much appreciated.

Congratulations to Alfie and Charlotte on their wonderful wedding on Saturday in Rattlesden. It was such a lovely day for such a fantastic couple, so proud of both of them. Have a lovely honeymoon.

A working lifetime in funerals. 40 years ago this month I started my working life in the funeral profession in Chesterfield on a YTS training scheme (as I frequently remind my children £27.50 a week), moving onto the co-op in Sheffield and in 1989 moving down to Suffolk working for a funeral directors in Ipswich and Sudbury before opening Andrew Bingham Independent Funeral Service in 2006, in Stowmarket. I have been so fortunate to have met so many people over the years, both clients and colleagues, with many remaining lifelong friends. It has been a huge privilege, and I feel incredibly proud to have been involved in so many funerals and to have helped so many people at such a difficult time in their lives. i Feel incredibly blessed. 5 years ago today, Alfie joined Andrew Bingham Independent Funeral Service, joining us at the tender age of 16 he is a credit to the company, (according to Alfie I don’t know how we ever managed without him.) well done Alfie we love having you in the team, here’s to many more years (boss).
