What a truly unforgettable day… ❤️🐄
Today, we had the absolute privilege of watching our wonderful Jackie, aged 99, make his One Wish come true by stepping back into the show ring to show an Ayrshire cow once again.
To see the smile on Jackie’s face, the pride in his eyes, and the happiness this brought him is something none of us will ever forget. Today wasn’t just about showing a cow – it was about bringing back treasured memories, reliving a lifelong passion, and proving that dreams really can come true, no matter your age.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you to every single person who helped make today possible. A very special thank you to Chic for everything he did for Jackie – from kindly treating him to his beautiful Ayrshire shirt and tie, taking the time to visit him beforehand to talk him through the day, and then standing proudly beside him in the show ring today. Your kindness, patience and generosity have meant the world.
A huge thank you as well to Kathryn Jamieson, Allan C Clark, the Stranraer Show, the Stranraer Agricultural Society, the Ayrshire Cattle Society UK, the amazing volunteers, carno media ltd,Greatest Hits Radio Dumfries & Galloway, BBC Scotland, Border News, STV News, the Free Press, and every single person who supported, shared, encouraged and cheered Jackie on. Every one of you played a part in making today so incredibly special.
Jackie has told us just how much today meant to him, and it’s a day he will never, ever forget. The memories you’ve all helped create will stay with him forever, and we feel so privileged to have been a small part of making his lifelong dream come true.
We sincerely apologise if we’ve forgotten to mention anyone individually. The support we have received has been absolutely overwhelming, and words can’t express what today has meant to Jackie or to all of us. Every message, every share, every act of kindness and every person who played a part has helped make this dream come true, and for that we will be forever grateful.
From Jackie and all of the Belmont family, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We will never forget what you have all done to make one very special man’s dream come true. ❤️

Today’s the day! 🐄❤️

If you’re coming along to the Stranraer Agricultural Show today, we’d love to see you there supporting our amazing Jackie as he makes his One Wish come true.

At 99 years old, Jackie will be stepping back into the show ring to show an Ayrshire cow once again – something he has dreamed of doing for many years.

🕚 Jackie will be showing at 11:05am, so if you’re at the show, please come along and cheer him on. We know it will mean the world to him.

Tomorrow is a day we’ve all been looking forward to… ❤️🐄
Tomorrow, Jackie will see his One Wish come true.
At 99 years old, Jackie will once again step into the show ring and spend time with the beautiful Ayrshire cows he has loved since he was a young boy. Seeing him proudly dressed and ready for his big day is something we’ll treasure forever.
This simply wouldn’t have been possible without the kindness, generosity and support of so many amazing people. A very special thank you to Chic Service, who has gone above and beyond for Jackie. Not only did he kindly provide Jackie’s beautiful Ayrshire shirt and tie, but he also took the time to visit Jackie, talk him through everything that will happen, and tomorrow he’ll be right by Jackie’s side helping him show his Ayrshire cow. Your kindness, patience and generosity have meant more than words can say.
We’d also like to thank the Stranraer Agricultural Society, Greatest Hits Radio Dumfries & Galloway, BBC Scotland, everyone at Belmont Care Centre, and every single person who has shared, supported and encouraged Jackie on this incredible journey.
Tomorrow isn’t just about showing an Ayrshire cow… it’s about making memories, honouring a lifetime of passion, and proving that it’s never too late for dreams to come true.

A huge thank you to Greatest Hits Radio Dumfries & Galloway, Ruth Ridley, Alison Clark and everyone involved for helping share Jackie’s story. ❤️
Seeing Jackie’s wish reach so many people means the world to us. At 99 years old, he is about to relive such a special part of his life by showing an Ayrshire cow once again at the Stranraer Agricultural Show next week – a moment none of us at Belmont Care Centre will ever forget.
Thank you for helping make this dream come true and for showing just how important it is to make wishes happen, no matter your age. We can’t wait for next Wednesday and look forward to sharing lots more photos and memories from what is sure to be a very special day. 🐄💙
