What a turn out we had for our Onam celebrations yesterday! We had more residents & loved ones visit and join in, than previous years, which made it even more special 😀 ⭐️
The weather just held out for us too ☀️
A lot of people ask ‘what is Onam?’
Well, Onam is the Hindu celebration, celebrated particularly in Kerala. It is the harvest festival, in celebration traditionally, for the return of King Mahabali (Michael) 😊
The day is celebrated with a flower Pookkalam, the traditional women’s dance of Thiruvathirakali, celebratory games, and eating a range of vegetarian curries and delicacies off a fresh banana leaf, called Sadya 🌺
Once again, a big thank you to our wonderful team, for allowing us to be apart of your beautiful culture and including us and celebrating our diverse team ⭐️
Our home is always known for our celebration of diversity and inclusion, and we feel it is always a priority. A lot of our team members are away from their homelands, and families, so to bring a bit of their home and culture within our home, is truly special and something that we will continue to do.
