I hate running. 💔
(ad) turns out 7 months of injury and not being able to run, actually can make the return the running not that fun.
I’m constantly in fear of getting injured again, as well as always comparing myself to past versions of me who were faster and fitter.
And I am doing my best now to try and fall back in love with the sport, when all I really want to do is avoid it forever.
It is just like when I first started running and I hated it and I had to bribe myself to get out the door.
Treating myself to good running routes and food at the end of runs, as well as following a running plan to hold me accountable.
I was on the post injury plan for the first 6 weeks, building me up to run 5k with no stops and now I am on the run further plan so I can gradually build up to the half marathon distance. (code DRBECCA for free trial)
It’s not quick, it’s not glamorous. But it is healthy and it is sustainable.
And I know that the better I ease my way into running now, the more I will be able to run in my future.
