You’re simply a misunderstood genius! #5
Throughout my training and work with my clients I have marvelled at the purely genius solutions our subconscious minds come up with in order to spare us from physical, emotional and mental pain and ultimately keep us alive.
So I thought I’d create a little series of posts to give you an insight into some of the missing pieces of various client’s puzzles that their subconscious mind has surfaced for them during a Rapid Transformational Therapy session which have led them to great epiphanies.
I say missing parts of the puzzle because the information had always been there and after sometimes years of utilising their conscious mind to solve the puzzle were unable to.
For me it’s super rewarding to be able to help my clients in this way and proof that tracing back to the root cause is key opposed to treating or managing the symptoms.
Of course client confidentiality is my top priority so none of these case studies have been my own clients, instead they are examples from my extensive training. They will not include anything that could identify individuals and details will be minimal. My intention is to highlight to you just how powerful and clever your mind is.
So….. Missing part of the puzzle #5
Client’s challenge area:
Lack of confidence and trust issues.
What was at the root cause:
Sadly this person was sexually abused as a young child by someone in their family circle. They were told they must never tell anyone otherwise their mother wouldn’t love them anymore.
As a young child they desperately wanted to tell someone that they were hurting inside but felt bound to the promise due to a fear of rejection from the person who they’d previously believed would love them unconditionally and was their protector.
As you can appreciate this is a very complex scenario which a young child would have really struggled to navigate and make sense of especially since the part of the brain responsible for complex thinking doesn’t develop until the age of seven years.
The lack of confidence stemmed from questioning their own instincts to confide in their mother and feeling powerless. And the trust issues stemmed from not knowing who they could put their trust in given the belief that your family are supposed to keep you safe, love you and not hurt you. They didn’t know who to believe and there could have been devastating consequences if they got it wrong.
Her subconscious’ genius solution:
Stay out of the limelight, don’t take any risks, be submissive, do everything you can to keep the people around you from hurting you further or rejecting you, don’t speak your truth, don’t trust anyone and don’t let anyone find out that you’re hurting on the inside.
Needless to say this had a big impact on many aspects of this person’s life not only when they were a child but later in life too. What served them when they were reliant on their caregivers as a child no longer served them as an adult. Their instinctual fear response was to appease others because they felt powerless to do anything else.
