We have two beautiful fully equipped studios, with heated bamboo floors, clean clear space with natural light and good varied lighting. Over 50 classes running per week covering all types of yoga and pilates. All our teachers work independently so to book a class the teacher should be contacted directly. Despite how it may look from the top of the high street we are still open for business!

Nelson street will be closed weekdays until 13th August, between 930-330, for resurfacing but you can still access the studio on foot in both directions.

Some of our regular weekly classes are currently paused for August so do check the timetable and with teachers, rather than just turning up, if you're not sure.

With the intensity of the recent heat, Sunday’s restorative yoga class offers an opportunity to slow down and replenish. As cooler temperatures return, we will embrace a practice of rest, comfort, and gentle renewal.

Hot weather can sometimes leave us feeling depleted, restless, sluggish, or uncomfortable, with symptoms such as tiredness, disturbed sleep, heavy or swollen-feeling legs, headaches, or muscle tension and cramping. This gentle practice is designed to provide space for recovery and ease.

Supported by bolsters, blankets, and other props, you willl be guided into a series of nurturing poses held for longer periods, allowing the body to soften and the mind to become quiet. With very little physical effort required, this practice creates the conditions for deep relaxation and a welcome sense of spaciousness.

Restorative yoga can help ease feelings of fatigue and stress, encourage healthy circulation, support relaxation, and promote a greater sense of physical and mental wellbeing. Many people find they leave feeling calmer, more comfortable in their bodies, and better prepared for a restful night’s sleep.

Ever wondered how Stroud Yoga Space came to be? 🌿

It all started back in 2012 with our founder, Rachel Mellish. Having taught yoga in the local area for nearly a decade at the time, Rachel had a vision to create a warm, welcoming, and light-filled sanctuary for movement and connection - a comfortable alternative to the chilly village halls of the past.

With a lot of love, imagination, and the help of her husband William, friends, and local craftspeople, they transformed what used to be an old pet shop into the vibrant yoga studio space we all enjoy today.

As the studio grew, so did the needs of our community. In 2016, we expanded to open Stroud Yoga Shop next door. Rachel wanted to create a helpful, supportive extension of the studio - a place where you can find thoughtfully curated, practical items like durable mats, props, and ethical yoga wear to support your practice, without any pressure or trend-led sales.

Alongside her 20+ years of yoga teaching, Rachel has also been a hairdresser for over 40 years! Today, she brings that same sense of care and undivided attention to her hairdressing clients right here at the studio on Wednesdays and Fridays. It’s a quiet, calm, and personal space where you can enjoy a relaxed atmosphere.

Whether you are stepping into a class for the very first time, picking up a prop or a new outfit, or booking in for a quiet haircut, Rachel’s original vision remains the same: to make everyone feel genuinely welcome, supported, and at home.

We are saying a final goodbye to the Ripple stonewashed collection.

For years, these stonewashed colours have been an absolute favourite among our studio community but a little while ago Ripple discontinued the stonewashed finish, meaning once our current stock is gone, these pieces will not be restocked.

We are down to the final few remaining items, with very limited sizes left across a selection of jumpsuits, long jumpsuits, capris, long bottoms, and our popular criss-cross and half-moon tops.

If you already own one and are looking for a backup, or if you’ve been thinking about investing in a practical, durable piece for your home or studio practice, you can browse what we have left both in our on-site shop and online.

In many yoga traditions, pink is associated with Anahata, or the Heart Chakra. While often represented by green, pink is frequently used to symbolise the softer, more nurturing side of this energy - focusing on self-compassion and kindness towards ourselves as we move.

We’ve recently added some new pieces to the Stroud Yoga Shop that bring a bit of colour and light to these spring days. These pieces from Born Nouli and BAM are chosen for their comfort and ease of wear.

🌸 Tula Harems by Born Nouli: These are exceptionally soft with a relaxed fit, offering plenty of room to move without restriction.

🌸 Gathered Hem T-shirt by BAM: Crafted from sustainable bamboo, the gathered hem is a practical touch that keeps the shirt in place during your practice.

We have paired these in the photos above with a pink yoga belt and Toesox to complete this rosy look.
