As we face unprecedented chaos and crisis in our time, it is not unusual to feel hopeless. I was talking to my supervisor recently about my own despair in the face of the climate crisis, Trump, Brexit and Boris Johnson, increasing inequality and austerity and rampant capitalism. She reminded me that in times like this there is another option – to devote ourselves to who and to what matters most to us. I thanked her for the reminder and have felt encouraged to keep remembering this ever since.
Perhaps you are experiencing something similar?
Over the summer some places have become available in my private practice. If you (or someone you know) are looking to devote some time to yourself/ your relationship or to your what really matters to you, you may want to consider coming and checking out a process-oriented approach. Processwork is founded on the radical idea that a message can be found within any difficulty. When we explore a relationship conflict, a disturbing dream or a troubling symptom for example, we will often discover each contains a hidden meaning.
Each session is likely to look different depending on what you need, I follow your lead. I work with whatever you choose to bring: dreams, relationship issues, depression, anxiety, symptoms and physical pain, addictions, self-criticism, trauma and abuse, isolation, power issues, bereavement and more. You may want to talk while I listen, to reflect or to question. We can work with movement or drawing if that suits you best.
I offer weekly sessions for individuals or couples, this could include partners, friends, co-workers or family members, at a cost of £45 or £65 for a couple. These will be videoed for my own study purposes. (I am in the final phase of my psychotherapy training with RSPOPUK which is accredited by UKCP.)
I welcome people of all abilities, ethnic and racial backgrounds, faiths, relationship styles and sexual orientations to my practice.
