A mid-week garden harvest. Three herbs, endless uses.

🌼 Calendula
One of the most hardworking herbs in the garden. Infuse the petals in oil and use it on dry skin, minor cuts, or anything that needs a little soothing. Beautiful in a salve or simply added to a warm bath.

🌿 Thyme
A kitchen staple that earns its place in the medicine cabinet too. Rich in thymol, a natural antimicrobial, it makes a brilliant steam inhalation for congestion or a simple honey and thyme syrup for a scratchy throat.

🌺 Lavender
The herb most people already have and under-use. A few drops of the infused oil on your pillow, a sprig tucked into a drawer, or steeped into a tea at the end of a long day. Calming, simple, and it actually works.

Today’s harvest 🌿 lemon balm & chamomile 🌼, two of the gentlest, most useful herbs you can grow.

Lemon balm for when your nervous system needs a quiet moment. Anxious, wired, can’t switch off, a simple tea before bed works harder than you’d think.

Chamomile for everything from a tense tummy to a restless child. Anti-inflammatory, calming, and genuinely delicious.

Dry them, store them, use them all winter. This is what growing your own medicine actually looks like.

Don’t overthink it.

Your “Relax” and “Focus” gum claims to deliver 25% of our daily B vitamins per piece. Sounds impressive, right? Here’s the reality: B vitamins are water-soluble. If your body doesn’t need the extra, you’re literally just flushing your money away.

If you eat a balanced diet, you aren’t deficient in B3, B5, or B6 anyway. Even the fine print admits these vitamins only contribute to “normal psychological function”, the bare minimum legal phrasing for “keeping the lights on.”

The bottom line: It’s not a cognitive boost; it’s a baseline your body already hits. This is wellness marketing masquerading as science. Save your money and buy real food instead.

Saturdays 🌿 🧪 ☀️

I’ve worked really hard to get here. There was once a version of me who dreamt about the day I could spend Saturdays in my clinic mixing up prescriptions.

The past three days I’ve been on a Leaders of the Future course (and won a Leader of the Future award – humble brag).

What it reminded me is that leadership comes in many forms. It doesn’t always have to be loud or forceful.

As someone who leads with empathy, I’m learning that softness isn’t something to hide. It’s my superpower.
