Alison Foster Yoga Yoga Classes for Mental & Physical Well-Being Hi, I’m Alison, an experienced and passionate Yoga Teacher.

My teaching focuses largely on the importance of the breath and linking it with each posture. In time, this becomes a moving meditation: creating emotional balance, mental clarity and wellbeing.

Slow down. Breathe deeply. Come back into your body.

Autumn is beginning to draw us inward.

The trees are releasing their leaves, the evenings are getting darker, and there is a natural invitation to slow the pace a little.

The work of summer is done. Now comes a quieter season — a time for letting go, gathering ourselves in and listening more closely.

Over the next six weeks our yoga will follow that rhythm.
We'll spend more time moving with awareness, breathing deeply through pranayama, becoming quieter and noticing what we can actually feel within the body.

Having explored the koshas — the different layers of our being — last term, we'll now give ourselves more space to experience them.

- Less explanation.
- More breath.
- More presence.
- More time to simply be.

As the nights draw in, perhaps this is your invitation to draw inward too.

What do you need more of as we move into autumn?

Come and meet yourself on the mat.

Where are you placing your energy today?

In class this term we’ve been exploring the first two of the Pancha Koshas — in simple terms, the physical body and the energetic or breath body — and how closely the two are connected.

It’s been a useful reminder that how we move, rest, breathe and where we place our attention all affect how we feel.

So perhaps a little check-in today: where is your energy going — and are you leaving some for yourself?

Over the next couple of weeks there are a few opportunities to make some space for you:

☺️ Friday Yoga & Friday Stillness
☺️ Sound Healing & Deep Rest — Friday 18th September
☺️ Rest • Release • Restore — Saturday 26th September, falling on the Full Moon

Different ways to move, breathe, pause, rest and replenish.

Greetings everybody, ☺️ love to all.

I've been taking a break from Social Media recently, but today I'm back to share something with you as its the Summer Solstice and International Yoga Day tomorrow.

I’ve created a free 17-page Summer Solstice Companion to honour the longest day and International Yoga Day.

It brings together some of the practices I’ve shared in past Solstice workshops, including Sun Salutations, a gentler stretch practice, stories of the Sun, the Gayatri Mantra, reflection, deep rest and a simple ritual.

You can access it here:

I hope it brings a little light and steadiness to your weekend.

Warmest Blessings, Alison ###

The Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year and a natural moment to pause, reflect and honour the life-giving light of the Sun. Created alongside International Yoga Day, this 17-page printable companion offers gentle ways to explore the season through movement, mantra, story, reflection, r...

As we move towards this New Moon, the energy may feel a little heightened, stirred, or unsettled.

At this time of year, nature is full of movement. Blossom is falling, fruit is beginning to form, bees are gathering, and the green world is growing quickly.

It can be beautiful.

It can also remind us how much change is happening beneath the surface.

This week, a small iris in my garden caught my attention. It had been transplanted from my mum and dad’s garden next door — uprooted, disturbed, and asked to find itself again in new ground.

And here it is now: small, steady, perfectly formed, and blooming in her own time.

It felt like a quiet teaching.

In yoga, we keep returning to the body, the breath, and the ground beneath us. We practise softening what is tense, releasing what we no longer need to hold, and coming back to centre.

These simple practices can support us when life feels fast, uncertain, or full of change.

I’ve written a new blog reflecting on this New Moon, the turning of the season, Beltane, nature as our guide, and how we stay rooted as life moves forward.

You’ll also find links to my May New Moon Companion and my free Step Back • Tune Out • Drop In pause practices.

And this Saturday, I’m holding Rest, Release, Restore — an afternoon of gentle yoga, rest, sound, and deep relaxation.

There are currently 2 spaces left, and it feels like a very timely space for this New Moon weekend.

A beautiful thank you to those who shared the Spring Equinox workshop with me yesterday.

Spending time creating balance within ourselves and giving space for the body, breath, mind and spirit to come into union, felt especially meaningful.

Closing with the mandala and the offering of love and healing, out into the world was a beautiful way to complete the morning, particularly at a time when it feels so needed. ✨💖🙏🕯️✨

Hello lovely people, I hope you are enjoying your Friday.

Today is a special day in the turning of the Wheel of the Year, - The Spring Equinox. A point of stillness and balance.

Across the natural world this point acts as a hinge. Light and darkness meet. Winter loosens its grip, Spring gathers strength and new life prepares to emerge.

Take a look outside for a moment... Nature isn't rushing this change.

We too can take our cues from nature. Taking a moment or two to bring our attention back to the rhythms that support steadiness.

To pause, notice, breathe. To notice where life feels balanced and where small adjustments may bring us greater ease.

If you'd like to join me tomorrow and share some time to slow down, tune in, and gently realign your body, mind, and spirit through yoga, ritual, symbolism, and seasonal reflection there are a few spaces left in my Spring Equinox workshop tomorrow.

Message me if you’d like to join or follow the link in the comments below.

Hello my lovely,

It's pretty clear that many of us are feeling the intensity of the world right now.

The constant flow of information moves quickly through our days and through the nervous system.

One of the simplest things we can do in times like this is to pause...

Step Back -from the noise, Tune Out -of the story & Drop Back into ourselves. 😊

Over the coming weeks I’ll be sharing a series of small pause practices like this one. 👇

Each is an invitation to slow the pace for a moment, - to notice, breathe, and return to your own centre.

You may find that even a few minutes of stepping back gently changes the rhythm of your day.

Sometimes the smallest pauses are the ones that bring us back to ourselves.

With much love. Alison .x.
