💎 Gem of the Month – May 💎

Some of you may not yet know Brianna as she is one of the newer members of our Bishops Manor family, having joined us in January as a Lifestyle Co ordinator. Since arriving, she has quietly made a huge impact through her kindness, dedication and genuine passion for improving the lives of our residents. ✨🚀

Brianna holds a Master’s degree in Health Psychology from Birmingham City University, giving her an in depth understanding of human behaviour, wellbeing and the factors that support people to live healthier, happier lives. She brings this knowledge, alongside genuine warmth and compassion, into her role every single day. 🙏🏼✨

We are therefore delighted to announce that Brianna has been recognised as our Gem of the Month for May, an award that is thoroughly deserved. 💎 ✨🚀

As if that wasn’t enough, Brianna has also recently qualified as one of our Dementia Care Coaches. In this role, she will work alongside colleagues to further enhance the experiences of residents living with dementia, champion person centred care and support the team in delivering the very best outcomes for those we care for. 🧡✨

Brianna is a thoughtful, dedicated and highly valued member of the team. We are incredibly proud of all she has achieved in such a short space of time and excited to see the positive impact she will continue to have across Bishops Manor.🧡✨

Today we say goodbye to our Tom… our sunshine on a rainy day. ☀️❤️

We will miss his random dance moves in the middle of conversations, the miming to every golden oldie going and his electric energy that lights up a room the second he walks in. 🕺 🎶 🌈 ⚡️ 💥

Tom, YOU have left a legacy of laughter, colour, kindness and unforgettable memories behind at Bishops Manor and things simply won’t be the same without you. ☹️✨🚀

While we are sad to see you go, we couldn’t be prouder of you stepping into your new chapter as part of the regional operations team. Our loss is their gain. 👏🏽 🥳 ✨🚀

On Monday 11th May, our wonderful Barbara celebrated an incredible milestone as she turned 💯 years young. ✨

Surrounded by the people who love her most, Barbara enjoyed a beautiful afternoon tea celebration at Bishops Manor with prosecco flowing, plenty of laughter and a spectacular 💯 birthday cake enjoyed by all. 🎂🥂🥳✨

Barbara never had children of her own, but her nieces, Jackie and Gail, have been her world for many years. Through every chapter of Barbara’s life, they have remained by her side with unwavering love, loyalty and care, visiting regularly, supporting her endlessly and making sure she always feels celebrated and cherished. The bond between them is incredibly special and is felt by everyone fortunate enough to witness such a beautiful family connection. 🙏🏼 ❤️✨

Jackie and Gail also proudly presented Barbara with her card from The King, beautifully mounted in a frame for this once in a lifetime occasion. 📖✨

A particularly moving moment during the celebrations came as Barbara’s remarkable service history was recognised. Barbara served as a WREN between 1944 and 1946 as part of the Women’s Royal Naval Service, the women’s branch of the Royal Navy during World War II. The Wrens played an essential role in supporting the war effort through communications, intelligence, administration, radar operations and many other vital duties. 🫡 🎖️🏅🥈 🙏🏼

To honour Barbara’s service, Gail arranged for Warrant Officer and Regional Engagement Officer for the Royal Navy, Rob Govier MBE, to attend
the celebration and present Barbara with a long overdue medal she had never received during her years of service, alongside a certificate recognising her contribution. It was an incredibly emotional and proud moment for everyone present. 🙏🏼⚓️✨

When asked how she felt turning 100, Barbara simply smiled and said she still feels 30. 🥳 ❤️

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Aunty Barbara. You are graceful, witty, resilient and you’re deeply loved by everyone lucky enough to know you. What a privilege it is to celebrate such an extraordinary lady. ✨

Today we’re celebrating the brilliant nurses at Bishops Manor on INTERNATIONAL NURSES DAY 💙 🩵 ✨

One of the things that sets Bishops Manor apart is our magnificent nursing team. We are incredibly lucky to have such experienced, dedicated nurses within our home, many of whom have been with us since the very beginning and we are so grateful to each and every single one of them 🙏🏼 ✨

Thank you for everything you do, not just today but every single day. We are very proud of you all 💙 🩵 🤍 ✨

Today at Bishops Manor we stepped back in time and celebrated VE Day in true British style with a wonderful street party filled with music, laughter, memories and togetherness. ❤️ 🤍 💙 ✨

From beautifully decorated tables and homemade cakes to waving flags and singing along to the timeless songs of Vera Lynn, it was a day full of love and nostalgia for our residents, relatives and team. ❤️ ✨

A huge thank you to the fabulous Becca G for her incredible performance which had everyone singing and reminiscing. The atmosphere was magical. 🎤✨

Moments like these are so important, honouring a generation and creating memories together as one big Bishops Manor family. 🇬🇧 ✨

We’ve got that Friday feeling and WHAT a week it’s been celebrating our magnificent team 🥳✨

Day 5 of Staff Appreciation… and you absolutely did not disappoint. ✨🚀

Back by popular demand, The Wheel of Fortune made its second appearance; a game of chance, where luck is either on your side… or .. not 😅 🎡 💥

For those who landed on the big wins, the prizes were seriously good, for others… well, let’s just say you took it in the spirit it was intended… mostly 😂 we even had some team members donate their prizes to their colleagues, the kindest hearts and we know who you are 👀🥳

Also a huge shout out to The Cake Box in Boldmere who donated the most magnificent cake, samosas and spring rolls. THANK YOU, we massively appreciate you 👏🏽 💛✨

We’re ending the week on an absolute high 🥳

But the highlight today, has to be Yaneek… 👀

Despite her best efforts with a blonde wig and full banana yellow “disguise”… and even attempting a completely different voice… she was clocked instantly 😅🤣

She casually rejoined the queue like nothing had happened, fully committed to securing seconds… and honestly, how could we say no

Jay – You shine on the floor. The feedback from families about the way you lead by example and always put residents first speaks volumes ⭐️ 🚀

Brie – Still fairly new to Bishops Manor, yet already such an integral part of the activities team and our family. You’ve stepped into the role like you’ve always been here. Keep winning, Brie 💛✨

Elaine – Your kind and gentle nature with both residents and colleagues is something special. You pour your heart and soul into what you do, and we’re incredibly lucky to have you ❤️

Michelle, Jane & Lisa – The three of you handled a very tricky situation with such grace, patience, empathy and kindness, even when it impacted your own duties. We were blown away by your compassion. 🥳

Robina – A real force behind the scenes and a valued part of our kitchen family. You show up every day, work hard, and bring a brilliant sense of humour to the team 🥰
