“I have been coming for treatments with Hang of Sutton Holistics 🪷 for quite some time..I first came to Hang, in what I believe was a desperate state. I could hardly walk, I had a recurring virus (brought on by stress) called Epstein Barr Virus and Glandular Fever along with other personal issues. I never knew what to expect when I first visited or even with the Treatments. I have had a few - Emmett, Reiki, Reflexology, EFT and Massage.

I have completed my Diploma! Yay! 🎉😊

Kinesiology is another amazing therapy that I do. By testing various muscles in the body, we can help find imbalances in the body and then balancing it accordingly!

Do you know how much training our Practitioners have to go through to become a qualified Kinesiologist?

✅First of all, they need to complete our FOUNDATION training.
Usually 12 full days of training (usually run over 6 weekends), they learn about the body, it’s systems and what it needs to return to balance.

At the end of the course, they're able to help friends and family with their health and wellbeing. Practitioners of other modalities who complete our training find that their new muscle testing skills are an invaluable addition to their existing practices.

✅Next is DIPLOMA training.
This is the highest level of training and after 24 days of class training and coaching (usually run over 12 weekends), with 50 case studies, written assignments and presentations and a final assessment from an Independent Assessor, they'll qualify as a professional Kinesiology Practitioner. At this level, they can also register with the CNHC (Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council).

The learning and accreditation doesn't stop there!

We also require that all of our Diploma Practitioners have a:
✅an ITEC level 3 equivalent qualification in Anatomy and Physiology (A&P)
✅an ITEC level 3 equivalent qualification in Nutrition
✅and a valid First Aid Certificate

Finally, all of our Practitioners must meet the annual CPD requirements.

They have access to Tutors and other Professional Kinesiologists on private forums throughout their training, which continues after qualification.

You can see why online courses really don't cut it in comparison to the level and depth our students go into, and why Insurers or Professional Associations won't recognise online certification.

Bach Flower Remedies are often used during and following a Kinesiology session to support emotional stability.

MIMULUS Bach Flower Remedy is for worry that can be named.

It helps to bring courage and sense of calm to face the situation that causes feelings of fear or anxiousness, e.g. public speaking, a job interview, the dark, returning to school, dogs.

Mimulus is particularly good to support nervous, shy or timid personalities.

Dosage: 4 drops, 4 times a day taken either in water or directly on the tongue.

Muscle response testing is the main tool used by kinesiologists.

Muscle testing is a way of accessing the deep wisdom held within the body; the wisdom that knows exactly where imbalances are and exactly what the body needs to return to balance.

The body often shows us where things have gone a bit awry by giving us twinges or symptoms.

Kinesiologists can talk to the body using this amazing tool to find out which realm needs attention - be that the physical, emotional, biochemical or electrical realm - and within which organ’s system.

Techniques and corrections are used within a session to return the body and its systems to balance.

Working in this way addresses the root cause of the issue rather than trying to address the symptoms. We work from the inside out NOT the outside in.

my brain and
heart divorced
a decade ago

over who was
to blame about
how big of a mess
I have become

eventually,
they couldn't be
in the same room
with each other

now my head and heart
share custody of me

I stay with my brain
during the week

and my heart
gets me on weekends

they never speak to one another

- instead, they give me
the same note to pass
to each other every week

and their notes they
send to one another always
says the same thing:

"This is all your fault"

on Sundays
my heart complains
about how my
head has let me down
in the past

and on Wednesday
my head lists all
of the times my
heart has screwed
things up for me
in the future

they blame each
other for the
state of my life

there's been a lot
of yelling - and crying

so, lately, I've been
spending a lot of
time with my gut

who serves as my
unofficial therapist

most nights, I sneak out of the
window in my ribcage

and slide down my spine
and collapse on my
gut's plush leather chair
that's always open for me

~ and I just sit sit sit sit
until the sun comes up

last evening,
my gut asked me
if I was having a hard
time being caught
between my heart
and my head

I nodded

I said I didn't know
if I could live with
either of them anymore

"my heart is always sad about
something that happened yesterday
while my head is always worried
about something that may happen tomorrow,"
I lamented

my gut squeezed my hand

"I just can't live with
my mistakes of the past
or my anxiety about the future,"
I sighed

my gut smiled and said:

"in that case,
you should
go stay with your
lungs for a while,"

I was confused
- the look on my face gave it away

"if you are exhausted about
your heart's obsession with
the fixed past and your mind's focus
on the uncertain future

your lungs are the perfect place for you

there is no yesterday in your lungs
there is no tomorrow there either

there is only now
there is only inhale
there is only exhale
there is only this moment

there is only breath

and in that breath
you can rest while your
heart and head work
their relationship out."

this morning,
while my brain
was busy reading
tea leaves

and while my
heart was staring
at old photographs

I packed a little
bag and walked
to the door of
my lungs

before I could even knock
she opened the door
with a smile and as
a gust of air embraced me
she said

"what took you so long?"
