tink n stink Offering creative resources and SEN tools for children of all abilities and personalties including those with additional learning needs. Maria

We are a family run business with a huge soft spot for parents, teachers, educational suppliers and professional organisations that are set up to help children with may struggle with certain aspects of their life. We have an autistic son (Aspergers) and a daughter with dyslexia and dyspraxia. We know first hand the struggles that our children have had with integrating their needs into both school and home life. It's true that life as a parent of special needs children can be exhausting and challenging. BUT it is also incredibly rewarding and creative as we find ourselves constantly thinking outside the box to find ways of helping them along. When I set up tink n stink, my aim was to give parents opportunities to buy the resources that stopped us from pulling our hair out everyday. And, crucially they were also the things that bought stability to tink (our daughter) and stink (our son) from when they were little people to the young adults they have become today. Over the years, we've found lots of exciting, appealing, therapeutic and fun products that have helped many children learn, play and socialise in ways that make them feel safe and happy. We have sensory aids, games, toys and educational resources for everyone to enjoy. We are the bridge between your home and your children's school as everything in our catalog can be used in both environments. If you are a parent, a teacher, occupational therapist, a early years provider, a school, a children's charity, support group, part of the NHS we'd love to hear from you. We have lots of useful and effective resources on offer alongside a great need for providing friendly and helpful customer service (we've just been given Feefo's Gold Award for Trusted Service, ta-dah!). You can view all of our items on our website www.tinknstink.co.uk. Parents can enjoy using our fast, easy checkout whilst schools can place large orders using our invoice and purchase order number system. We always are happy to answer any questions. Please email us and we will respond to your request. Thank you for taking the time to visit us. We love to hear your feedback and ideas all the time so please come back and visit us often.

We are still looking for UK-based practitioners to trial the new ARK Therapeutic ZVibe Plus.

When we put out our original call we had a wonderful response from therapists and SEND specialists, but many applications came from outside the UK.

We are genuinely grateful for the international interest but the trial needs to be UK-based so we can support it properly. We have 3 new ZVibe Plus samples to pass on as part of this trial.

So we are opening the call again. Specifically for occupational therapists, speech and language therapists and specialist educational professionals based and working in the UK.

If that is you, tell us in the comments

- Who you work with
- How you currently use oral sensory tools in your practice
- Why the ZVibe Plus would be a valuable addition to your UK setting

or email sales@tinknstink if you would prefer to get in touch by email.

The new ZVibe Plus is the latest edition Oral Vibrating Tool from Ark Therapeutic.

It features three adjustable intensity levels, smooth and pulsing vibration modes, built-in memory, double-ended ergonomic handle and is fully compatible with all 45-plus existing Z-Vibe tips. CE certified and medical grade.

Let's talk about noise.

Ear defenders are one of the most practical tools we offer. They reduce noise and sensory overload, helping babies, children, and adults feel safe and comfortable in noisy environments.

They’re helpful in busy corridors, school assemblies, and even cafes where you enjoy the ambience but not the noise. Supermarkets, shopping centres, and airports -unpredictable, noisy environments with no easy exit - are also places where ear defenders can be helpful.

You can also use them at family gatherings and social events, where the mix of noise, people, and unpredictability can be especially exhausting for neurodivergent individuals.

They’re great at home during Halloween, Fireworks Night, New Year’s, or any event where sudden, loud noises might take away the joy of the experience.

We offer a range that fits babies from 6 months up to teenagers, available in a variety of colours. With a lightweight frame, padded headband, and cushioned ear cups, they’re designed for all-day comfort. Plus, our fun end caps let everyone show their personality.

We also stock discreet, stylish earbuds for adults. These reduce volume without muffling sound, making them perfect for concerts, festivals, races (or just those extra-lively moments at home 🕺🎶)

You can find them at tink n stink. We'll pop a link in the comments if you'd like to check them out.

You may have heard the phrase sensory diet in an OT report and wondered what it means. Even though the word 'diet' is used, it has nothing to do with food.

A sensory diet is a personalised programme of sensory activities and tools designed to help an individual's nervous system stay regulated throughout the day. Think of it like keeping blood sugar steady and balanced with regular meals rather than swinging between extreme of feeling starved or stuffed.

Sensory diets may include a chew tool for biting on during focused work, a fidget you can hold during transitions, weighted input to feel safe and anchored at calming times and scheduled movement breaks between tasks. Every individual's sensory diet looks different. That is completely normal.

Without regular sensory input a nervous system may work overtime to stay regulated and balanced. That extra effort can show up as distraction, meltdowns, shutdowns, constant fidgeting or difficulty concentrating on any given task. It is not a behaviour issue. It is biology at work.

If you find this useful, swipe through the full guide. Save it to refer back to it or share with schools, support groups, grandparents - anyone who asks why someone needs that tool in their bag or on their desk.

It's a few weeks into the new term. How is it going?

We know it will have been different for every family. Some children will have found their footing quickly. Others will still be finding the routine exhausting. Most will be somewhere in between.

Whatever happened in your house over the past few weeks, you got through it or are getting through it. That counts for more than it might feel like right now.

If something has worked particularly well this term so far - a tool, a routine, a conversation with school, we would genuinely love to hear about it.

The things that help your family are often what another family needs to read too.

Share below if you are comfortable doing so. Or message us if you want to share any feedback.

Something new arrived this week at tink n stink.

ARK Therapeutic gifted us three samples of the brand new ZVibe Plus ahead of its general release. They chose us as one of the partners who has worked hardest to connect their tools with therapists, families and children who rely on them. We are grateful our work is recognised in that way.

We want to continue getting the right tools to the right people for effective use in right situations and settings.

So, we're re looking for three occupational therapists, speech and language therapists, or specialist educational professionals working with children who use oral sensory tools as part of their therapeutic or classroom support.

The new ZVibe Plus is the evolution of the trusted Z-Vibe system. It offers:

📍 Three adjustable intensity levels,
📍 Smooth and pulsing vibration modes,
📍 A double-ended ergonomic handle,
📍 Built-in memory that recalls your last setting, and
📍 Compatibility with all 45-plus existing Z-Vibe tips.
📍 Is CE certified and medical grade

If that sounds like something that belongs in your clinic, school or home-visit kit, we would love to hear from you.

Tell us in the comments:

✏️ Who you work with
✏️ How you currently use oral sensory tools in your practice
✏️ Why the ZVibe Plus would be a valuable addition to your setting

We will read every response and select three practitioners to receive a complimentary trial sample of the ZVibe Plus.

We will close applications in seven days (Thursday 10th September 2026).

We will ask each recipient to share their honest experience and feedback with us afterwards, which we may share with our community with their permission.

This is not a random draw.

We are looking for professional certified Occupational Therapists and Speech and Language Therapists who will put it to work. If commenting, please ensure you are:

A message for teens going back to school...

Something we wish someone had told us when we were younger.

The anxiety of spending all day holding yourself together in a world not built for your brain is real and it’s exhausting. The effort you put in isn’t not weakness. It’s quiet strength only some people see. Moms, dads, some friends, some teachers.

The strategies that help you focus might look different to others - fidgeting, moving, chewing, stimming. These aren’t bad habits. They’re your nervous systems way of trying to help you feel calm and grounded.

Sensory tools aren’t babyish. Elite athletes use them. Surgeons use them. Teachers use them. Even your moms and dads use them, too.

One of the most valuable things you can learn about yourself is what your nervous system needs to help you feel okay.

If you’re a young person reading this: we'd like you to know you very welcome here.

If you’re a parent of a neurodivergent teen, share this with them and let them choose what helps. That independence goes a long way to figuring out to ground themselves when you can’t always be there.

A message we received earlier this year stopped us in our tracks.

It's one of our favourites because it beautifully sums up why we do what we do.

It’s not always about having the biggest range or the flashiest packaging. For us, it really is about helping you find the right product. For many years, we’ve focused on asking the right questions and what we can to support our wonderful SEND community. Some days are easy, some days are hard but it's all worth it when we receive kind words such as these.

If you have had an experience with us you would like to share, we would genuinely love to hear it. Your stories mean the world to us, and help other families too.

You can see all our reviews on Truspilot and our website ❤️
