πŸ‘ΆπŸŽ‰ Expecting or recently welcomed another baby to your family? You might be expecting some things to be different, and the vaccine schedule for your baby is one thing that will be.

At the start of this year, the routine childhood vaccination schedule changed. Babies are now offered protection against chickenpox alongside measles, mumps and rubella through the introduction of the MMRV vaccine, which is already part of routine childhood vaccination programmes in several countries, including Canada, Australia and Germany.

πŸ§‘β€πŸΌπŸ’¬ "But why make changes? Isn't chickenpox usually mild?"
While most children experience chickenpox as a mild illness, it can sometimes be more serious and require hospital treatment. In rare cases, it can lead to complications such as chest infections, seizures and encephalitis (inflammation of the brain). The MMRV vaccine helps protect children against four serious diseases: measles, mumps, rubella, and chickenpox, while the introduction of the 18-month appointment will help provide them with protection at a younger age.

πŸ‚ DAY 2 β€” 30 REASONS TO STAY πŸ’œ
✨ The September Challenge ✨

As we say goodbye to summer and welcome autumn, the days begin to feel a little cooler, darker and shorter. For some of us, that change can affect our mood and wellbeing more than we realise. ❀️

So for Day 2 of our September Challenge, today’s reason to stay is:

🍁 The changing seasons and all the little comforts they bring.

Think cosy evenings, colourful leaves, your favourite jumper, warm drinks, crisp morning walks, movie nights, candles, comfort food and watching the world change around us. β˜•πŸ§£πŸ‚

As we transition into the darker months, remember to look after yourself too. Try to get outside during daylight when you can, keep connected with people you care about, make time for things that bring you comfort and give yourself permission to rest when you need it.

πŸ’ Day 2 challenge:
What is one thing about autumn that gives you a reason to smile or something to look forward to?

Share yours in the comments β€” you never know, your reason might become somebody else's too. 🫢🏻

And if the changing seasons feel difficult rather than exciting, you don't have to pretend otherwise. Please reach out if you're struggling. We're here to listen and support you. πŸ’œ

One day at a time. One reason at a time.
Your story isn't over.
