Your breathing changes when your nervous system feels stressed.

Often without even noticing, the breath becomes:

- shallow
- fast
- held
- tight in the chest

The body starts preparing for danger… even when you’re just trying to get through a normal day.

This gentle breathing exercise can help send a small signal of safety back to the nervous system:

🤍 Breathe in for 4
🤍 Hold for 4
🤍 Slowly breathe out for 6

Repeat slowly a few times.

The longer exhale is important.

Slow exhaling helps activate the body’s calming response and can gently help the nervous system soften out of “survival mode.”

Not perfectly calm.
Not instantly fixed.
Just one small shift at a time.

This is for the person who feels:
✨ mentally overloaded
✨ constantly “on”
✨ overwhelmed
✨ tense without realising it
✨ exhausted but unable to switch off

Save this for the days your body feels stressed before your mind has even caught up 🤍

Roll with me on this one... 😅

It might look a little silly, but your body already knows how to do this naturally.

Have you ever seen a dog shake after a stressful experience?

They're helping their nervous system discharge some of that built-up energy and return to balance.

As humans, we often do the opposite.

We stay tense. We stay still. We keep thinking about the stressful thing long after it's finished.

So roll with me on this one...

Stand up. Shake out your hands. Loosen your shoulders. Let your arms move. Take a slow breath.
Just 30 seconds can help interrupt that feeling of being stuck, restless, or wound up.

You don't always need to think your way out of stress.
Sometimes your body needs to move first.

🤍 Save this for the next time you feel overwhelmed and give it a try.

Exhausted… but somehow still can’t switch off?

You finally sit down.
The jobs are done.
The emails can wait.
There’s nothing urgent demanding your attention.

But your body still feels alert.
Your mind keeps going.

You feel tired… yet unable to properly rest.
This is often called being wired but tired — when your nervous system has been running for so long that slowing down doesn't come naturally anymore.

The good news?
You don't need to force yourself to relax.
Sometimes the first step is simply giving your body a different experience — one that feels safe, supported and free from pressure.

✨ My new Spotify meditation is designed to help you gently step out of "doing" mode and into a state where rest becomes possible.

If you’ve been following my page for a while, you’ll probably recognise some of these exercises 🤍

That’s intentional.

The nervous system learns through repetition, not just information.

These small practices help send gentle signals of safety back to the body — especially when we feel overwhelmed, overstimulated, anxious, emotionally shut down or stuck in survival mode.

✨ Orienting around the room
Slowly looking around your environment helps remind the nervous system that this moment is different from past stress or danger. It brings the brain back into the present.

✨ Long slow exhales
Longer exhales help activate the parasympathetic nervous system — the part involved in slowing the body down and supporting rest and regulation.

✨ Unclenching the jaw
Many people carry stress in the jaw without realising. Softening the jaw can help signal to the body that it no longer needs to stay braced for danger.

✨ Pressing feet into the floor
Grounding through the feet increases awareness of physical support and connection, helping bring attention out of spiralling thoughts and back into the body.

✨ Hand on chest
Physical touch can feel grounding and regulating for the nervous system. It can help create a sense of steadiness, reassurance and connection to the body.

✨ Widening peripheral vision
Stress narrows attention. Gently softening the gaze and noticing more of the environment can help reduce hypervigilance and signal greater safety to the brain.

These exercises are not about “fixing yourself.”

They are ways of gently teaching the nervous system that it may not need to stay in constant protection mode.

Whether you tend more towards fight, flight, freeze or fawn… small repeated moments of safety and regulation matter.

THANK YOU 🤍

Thank you to everyone who joined me last night for Open & Soften.

I hope you left feeling a little lighter, calmer and more connected to yourself.

Together we explored breathwork, nervous system regulation, gentle reflection, EFT tapping, sound and stillness — creating space to pause, release tension and soften into the present moment.

It’s always a privilege to hold these sessions and share an hour of calm with such a lovely group of people.

A reminder that relaxation isn't something you have to earn. Sometimes the most productive thing you can do is slow down, breathe and give your nervous system a chance to reset.

Seeing people leave looking softer, calmer and more relaxed is why I do this.

If you've been curious about coming along but weren't sure if it's for you, consider this your invitation. You don't need to know how to meditate, you don't need to be flexible, and you don't need any experience.

My sessions are beginner-friendly and combine simple nervous system exercises, meditation, breathwork and sound to help you slow down, switch off and find a little more calm in your week.

Just bring yourself, and I'll guide the rest. 🤍

You can also explore my free meditations, eBooks and online classes, just comment START and I’ll send you everything.

You can buy the candles.
Drink the herbal tea.
Listen to calming music.
Have the bath.
Burn the incense.
Wear the crystals.

But if your nervous system never learns how to actually regulate… you’ll keep returning to stress, tension and overwhelm.

Real calm isn’t something you buy once.
It’s something your body learns.

That’s why my classes aren’t just “relaxation”.

I teach you actual techniques designed to help your nervous system start feeling safer:
✨ breathwork
✨ grounding exercises
✨ body-based calming techniques
✨ guided meditation
✨ nervous system education
✨ deep relaxation & calming sound

Because when your body learns regulation… things begin to change outside the class too.

You start reacting differently.
Sleeping differently.
Breathing differently.
Living differently.

This is probably one of the most personal videos I’ve shared on here.

People often see the meditation, the calming room, the sound bowls, the classes…but not always the reason behind it all.

A huge part of why I do this work came from my own experience with illness, fatigue, stress, tension, and feeling like my body never truly switched off.

And honestly… I still struggle with illness now.
Which is exactly why I have to make time to calm my body and nervous system.

Not because meditation magically fixes everything.
But because I know how much stress, overwhelm, tension, and constantly being “on” can affect both mind and body.

This work became about creating moments of relief.
Moments where my body could soften.
Moments where I could breathe properly again.

That journey led me to nervous system work, meditation, breathwork, grounding techniques, and deep rest — and now I share that with others 🤍

This page is for the people who:
✨ feel wired but exhausted
✨ overthink everything
✨ carry stress physically in the body
✨ feel emotionally overwhelmed
✨ struggle to switch off
✨ want calm but don’t know where to start

If that’s you, you’re welcome here.
