Our residents have been enjoying a lovely Knit & Natter session at Holmwood House.

There’s nothing better than getting together for a relaxing morning of knitting, chatting, sharing memories and enjoying each other’s company.

It’s wonderful to see the different skills, patterns and stories being shared, with plenty of smiles and laughter along the way.

A simple activity that brings friendship, creativity and happy memories together.

August Memories at Holmwood House

What a wonderful August we’ve had at Holmwood House!

This month has been packed with special moments, happy memories and plenty of smiles and laughter.

From alpaca visits , music and singing, fitness and exercise, balloon tennis, flower arranging, garden time , tasty treats and lots of fun activities, our residents have certainly been busy!

But the very best part has been seeing our residents laughing together, trying new things, enjoying friendships and making memories.

Every photo tells a little story of another special day at Holmwood House.

BALLOON TENNIS FUN AT HOLMWOOD HOUSE!

Our residents had a fantastic time enjoying a lively game of Balloon Tennis!

There was plenty of fun, laughter and friendly competition as everyone worked together to keep the balloon in the air.

Activities like balloon tennis are a wonderful way to encourage:

Teamwork and social interaction
Hand-eye coordination
Gentle movement and exercise
Confidence and participation
And most importantly… lots of fun and laughter!

A simple balloon brought so many smiles to Holmwood House today.

BANANA SPLIT DELIGHTS AT HOLMWOOD HOUSE!

There’s always room for a little something sweet!

Our residents had a lovely time enjoying homemade banana splits, complete with fresh banana, delicious ice cream and plenty of tasty toppings!

Sometimes the simplest treats bring back the sweetest memories, and it was wonderful to see everyone choosing their favourites, chatting together and enjoying a proper old-fashioned dessert.

A little indulgence, lots of smiles and a very happy afternoon here at Holmwood House!

WE’VE BEEN HIGHLY COMMENDED!

We are absolutely delighted to share that Holmwood House Residential Care Home has been awarded HIGHLY COMMENDED in NAPA’s Afternoon Tea Week Competition 2026!

We are so proud of our wonderful team for creating such a special afternoon tea celebration, bringing together creativity, culture, friendship and, most importantly, lots of enjoyment for our residents.

It was a fantastic opportunity to celebrate together, make memories and enjoy some delicious treats along the way!

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped make our Afternoon Tea Week celebration so special. This recognition means so much to us and we couldn’t be prouder of the Holmwood team!
