This morning we welcomed Valentina and Ben from The Swaffham Light Festival which is planned for February 2027!

It was lovely to meet them and hear how our fabulous residents can be part of this project. Valentina and Ben met residents from both Kingfishers and Sandpipers, sharing what is planned and seeing how residents could be involved, whilst ensuring the project could be accessible to all our residents.

We look forward to September when we will be participating in tailored activities for us to enjoy, as well as talking about life in Swaffham and telling our own treasured stories.

The residents enjoyed their time at Swaffham community centre at the Wellbeing Café and joined in with a raffle 🏅🏅.

They each won an item and felt comfortable to shared experience of where they have lived and travelled with the volunteers at the café.
They are looking forward to the next wellbeing café and meeting more people in our community 🥰

Last night we hosted our monthly Late Night Social where residents from both Sandpiper and Kingfishers were invited to socialize with friends in The Paddocks Tavern 🍻and have a drink according to preference and play a few mini arcade games 🎮👾and a few tunes to enjoy 🎶.

The evening went well with the games being moved around between residents, two residents managed to get triple sevens 7️⃣7️⃣7️⃣on the slot machines, their smiles said it all 😁.

At the end of the evening residents asked for a cuppa ☕before heading off for the night 😴.

⭐TEAM MEMBER OF THE MONTH⭐

Kirsty is one of our seniors who goes above and beyond for the whole home. She supports the care team and shows care and compassion to all of our residents 🥰

She is currently completing her level 3 diploma. She is gaining so much knowledge, and I know she is going to be a rising star 🌟 of the Castlemeadow Care team!

On Wednesday we welcomed Kelly from Swaffham Guardians to The Paddocks!

Kelly shared her wishes for Swaffham and suggested ways in which our amazing residents can be included 🤗, tailoring activities to meet abilities and disabilities, ensuring residents can be involved and feel valued for their efforts in the mini projects. 💙

We thank Kelly for visiting and look forward to being part of this brilliant plan moving forward 🥰

The residents at The Paddocks had a special and unique experiences listening to the loud and impressive bagpipes 🎶, played by a wonderful Susan who shared that her upbring was in Scotland.

It was also a wish of one of our residents to be able to hear them and what a heartfelt and amazing moment to share this with friends, family and the team who visited The Paddocks this morning. This is with a sincere thank you to Susan and The Phoenix Pipes and Drums for making this happen for our resident and his family. 🥁💗

Two residents visited The Well-being Group at The Swaffham Community Centre, at Campinglands ⛺, we all received a warm welcome from those running the group, we enjoyed a hot drink and took part in the raffle, where we won a “Kettle Tipper”.
