Ultrasound scanning helps us to diagnose problems accurately so there is no guessing. Good clinical assessment procedures combined with a scan will lead to a more assertive diagnosis.
Ultrasound uses sound waves to map out tissue contour and texture and reveal abnormalities that are affecting movement or causing pain.
Ultrasound has equal agreement with MRI for most tendon, muscle and ligament injuries. We can also assess joints, observe swelling and determine if you have inflammation.
Better decisions. With the many treatments available, ultrasound helps to guide treatment so that we avoid wasteful therapies and focus on the most rapid recovery regimes. This could be shockwave, injections or immobilisation.
Ultrasound guided injections. Having thr ability to guide an injection into the joint has the benefit of, not only seeing the pathology, guiding the needle so that it targets ONLY the structure we want. It ensure maximum dose for steroid, and avoids hyaluronic acid or Arthrosamid being put into the wrong place! This is why ALL our injections are ultrasound guided!
