Did you know that sensory processing is the foundation of emotional regulation? 🧠✨

Before we've even decided how we feel, our brain has already scanned every piece of sensory input to determine whether we're safe — and activated our nervous system accordingly.

Understanding this changes EVERYTHING about how we support children in schools. 💡

Yesterday's training explored emotional regulation through a sensory lens — a hands-on, practical session with amazing engagement from every attendee.

Earlier this week I had the pleasure of delivering training on emotional regulation and sensory processing — and what a wonderful group of staff to spend the day with at the Guildhall, Swansea. 🏛️

Sensory processing sits at the foundation of emotional regulation, and it was great to see so much enthusiasm for exploring how this shapes the way we support children.

✨ Great to be back at the Guildhall yesterday for day 1 back after a lovely sunny half term break!☀️

Spent the day delivering my Sensory Processing & Emotional Regulation course to a brilliant group of staff — it was such an enjoyable session with a fantastic bunch of people. 🧠💛

Emotional regulation 🤝 Sensory Processing — you can't have one without the other!

Today's full-day training was all about understanding emotional regulation from a sensory perspective 💫

I forgot to take a group photo (😞 ) BUT the body sox demo? Captured forever. You know who you are — and you were BRILLIANT. 🙌

Thank you to Swansea Council ALN team for funding today's training to support teaching staff support emotional regulation.

It was an inspiring day at the neurodiversity show on Thursday in Cardiff City Stadium.

Great to meet so many exhibitors and attend some great seminars including Sarah Osbornes SO NUTRITION for ADHD and Frances ReesTHE NATIONAL NEURODIVERGENCE TEAM.

National Neurodiversity Shows

It was a great day at the National Neurodiversity Show in Cardiff this Thursday! 🧠✨

It was fantastic to connect with so many brilliant exhibitors, discover innovative products and services supporting the neurodivergent community, and soak up the energy of the seminars.

A particular highlight was attending the Wales Neurodivergence Team seminar delivered by Frances Rees and meeting the wonderful Sarah Osbourne from SO Nutrition for ADHD — amazing people doing such important work.

The positivity in that room was truly something special. Events like this remind us just how much incredible support and knowledge is out there for the neurodivergent community.
