Little art session today, the residents drew some of their favourite beaches. Pwll Du was the most popular, given them lots of different colours and textures. There was chatter and laughter all day.

Hey everyone, really sorry but we’re going to have to cancel the BBQ tomorrow. With the government alert about the increased risk of wildfires, we don’t want to take any chances or potentially contribute to the risk. Hopefully we can rearrange it for another day when things are safer. Sorry for the change of plans, and thanks for understanding! ❤️

We love a bit of crafting in the home and today we were making flowers, but not every craft is a success story. Our flowers didn’t quite come out as planned 🤣😂 but nevertheless we had lots of fun trying.

Back to the drawing board, maybe we should use a thicker tissue paper next time. We are still very proud of our efforts 😁🥰

Knit and natter this afternoon, making 30 x 50 squares to make rabbits on Tuesday. Liz and Rosemary are going to do extra for the residents who struggle to knit. It was like a little community here today, listening to classical music.

Rosemary is also knitting an angel jumper for Sheila’s doll which is so sweet. We will upload a picture once she has finished.

What a wonderful day, making ingredients for Vol-au-vents in the late morning/early afternoon ready to enjoy as a lunch time starter then a ice lollies in the garden, feeling the lovely summer breeze and catching up with friends.

We all enjoyed a laugh eating more of the ingredients than went in the vol-au-vents, remembering parties we use to make them for and sharing stories of a life long a go.

A lovely soft breeze and a cool ice lolly was the perfect end to the day.

It was an absolute pleasure having Graham and Gwenda as residents in our home, we all will miss them both dearly. Thank you so much for your very generous gift to the staff. Receiving any kind of “thank you” from the families really does boost our staff morale and reassures them they are doing a brilliant job. We will continue to give the highest leave of care and compassion possible. Feeling the love 🥰

Tuesday morning Cuppa Club at Penclawdd Community Centre, lovely to be out in the community again.

We always receive the warmest welcome and our residents really look forward to it. Its amazing hearing them chat and reminisce, talking about the weather to family to hobbies and telling jokes.

We really do appreciate our little community, we are very lucky to have them so close ❤️

Lovely game of Bingo with the residents this afternoon, we played 2 rounds, nothing like a little bit of competitive fun and lots of giggles. Trying to remember what each number was named made it that much funnier.

Two fat ladies 88
Two little ducks quack quack 22
Legs 11
Lucky number 7
Unlucky for sum 13

Liz won a box of chocolates for Roger, Rosemary, Dot and Pam won a bottle of wine. Great to see Ron back on his feet, we have missed his cheeky humour.

A little bit of rain didn't stop our lovely community visiting today, we had a great coffee morning Mr Kipling cakes are always a winner.

Alan got to meet a lady who also grew up in Wolverhampton, small world we live in. A few new faces joined this week which was a great addition to the group.

We look forward to seeing everyone again next week.
