Web Therapy: Supporting Families in Crisis

Working therapeutically with adopted and fostered children and young people requires more than traditional approaches. The impact of complex trauma can be seen across attachment, behaviour, emotional regulation, relationships, learning and family life.

Our two-day Web Therapy course is designed for therapeutic professionals working with, or planning to work with, adopted and fostered children and young people.

This specialist training provides a practical framework for understanding trauma through a relational lens and supporting the child, parents, family and professionals around them.

You will explore how to assess where support is needed, develop stronger attachment between children and caregivers, work collaboratively with parents, liaise with schools and teaching staff, and create environments that support positive change.

Rather than focusing solely on challenging behaviour, Web Therapy helps practitioners consider what the behaviour may be communicating and how trauma-informed support can build resilience, connection and recovery.
Enhance your practice. Develop specialist skills. Support families with greater confidence.

Two days that can transform the way you understand and respond to complex trauma.

Our Book of the Week!

A Polyvagal Informed Approach to Therapeutic Work with Children and Young People

Writeen by Karen O’Neill and Tara McDonald’s this book provides an accessible and practical exploration of Polyvagal Theory and how it can inform therapeutic work with children and young people.

The authors explore the nervous system, emotional regulation, social connection and our internal responses to safety and threat, helping practitioners consider what may be happening beneath a child’s behaviour. The book brings together Polyvagal Theory with attachment, developmental trauma and adverse childhood experiences, creating a wider relational understanding of children’s responses and adaptations.

One of the strengths of the book is the use of six storytellers, which brings the theory to life through relatable experiences and helps readers connect theoretical concepts with the lived experiences of children and young people.

The chapters also explore play and metaphor, integrating Polyvagal Theory into therapeutic practice and considering how therapists can support caregivers and teachers.

We particularly value the practical focus, with clear explanations, clinical examples and strategies that practitioners can consider within their own work.

Level 7 Creative Creative Clinical Supervision

Creative Clinical supervision is more than reviewing cases. It is a space for reflection, professional growth, ethical practice and developing the confidence to support others well.

Our Level 7 Creative Clinical Supervision course is designed for experienced practitioners who are ready to develop their skills and knowledge as clinical supervisors.

The programme explores supervision through a relational, creative and reflective approach, supporting supervisors to develop safe, effective and collaborative supervisory relationships.

You’ll explore supervision theory and models, ethical and professional responsibilities, reflective practice, working with risk and safeguarding, diversity and inclusion, the use of creativity in supervision, and the development of your own supervisory identity and practice.

Whether you are an experienced supervisor looking to formalise and deepen your practice, or a practitioner preparing to take on supervision responsibilities, this advanced training provides an opportunity to develop your confidence and competence.

Getting our therapy rooms ready for the new term!

There’s something lovely about refreshing the space, organising resources and adding some new stock ready to welcome children and young people back after the summer.

We’re choosing resources that encourage creativity, connection, expression and, most importantly, give young people freedom to explore in their own way.

We’d love to hear from other therapists too! What are your must-have resources in your therapy room? Is there a particular game, creative material, sensory resource or therapeutic tool that you couldn’t be without?

Share your favourites in the comments. We’re always looking for new ideas and inspiration!

Here’s to a new term filled with creativity, connection and therapeutic possibilities.

Level 6 Certificate Creative Therapeutic Life Story Work

Help children and young people make sense of their stories through creativity, connection and therapeutic practice.

Our Level 6 Creative Therapeutic Life Story Work course is designed for professionals supporting children, young people and families who want to develop their knowledge, confidence and practical skills in creative approaches to life story work.

Life story work is more than recording a child’s history. It can create opportunities to explore identity, relationships, belonging, memories and significant experiences in ways that are meaningful and accessible.

Throughout this one-year, part-time programme, you’ll explore how creative and therapeutic approaches can support children and young people to understand and communicate their experiences, while developing trauma-informed, relational and reflective practice.

The course is suitable for Play Therapists, Counsellors, Psychotherapists, Social Workers, Foster Carers and those working with care experienced and displaced children and young people.
