A Swansea bushcraft expert is making history as the first Welshman to appear on the hit US TV show Alone: World Championship - and you can now watch it in the UK πŸ”οΈ

πŸ¦ͺ Andrew Price, 51, grew up foraging for seaweed, mussels and blackberries on the Gower Peninsula with his grandfather, and kayak fishing for bass and mackerel around the coast with his father.

πŸ“Ί The show premiered this week on Sky HISTORY, marking the 13th season of the acclaimed series and the first to go global, pitting ten survivalists from seven countries - including Wales, the USA, Canada, Australia, Slovenia, Portugal and New Zealand β€” against each other in Canada's Arctic Circle. Whoever lasts longest takes home $500,000 and the title of first-ever Alone World Champion. If you missed it, don't worry - Andrew makes his first big introduction in episode 2 and episodes are available on catch-up.

❄️ Competitors are dropped with just ten survival tools and left to face Arctic winter conditions, grizzly bears, wolves and moose, entirely alone, with no camera crews, no support and no contact with the outside world.

🎬 Andrew is the founder of Dryad Bushcraft CIC and spent seven years co-hosting the BAFTA-nominated ITV Wales series Coast and Country. In a guest article for Sky HISTORY, he described competing as the culmination of a lifetime spent learning and teaching wilderness skills, saying: "It truly felt like competing in the survival world's equivalent of the World Cup, and an opportunity to represent Wales on the international stage."
