🏉 A proud moment for our pharmacy family!

Some of you will know Noah as Jon & Stacey's son and Huw's grandson.

We're incredibly proud that he's been selected to represent Llwchwr Schools Under 11s this season.

As part of the team's fundraising, Noah is taking part in a 13-mile sponsored walk on Saturday 29th August, visiting the district rugby clubs along the way.

We're looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Pharmacy Student to join our team at Penclawdd Pharmacy over the summer.

This is a fantastic opportunity to:

- Work alongside experienced pharmacists and a friendly, supportive team.

☀️ Stay Safe in the Heatwave ☀️

With temperatures expected to reach 35°C today, it's important to take extra care in the heat.

💧 Drink plenty of fluids throughout the day, even if you don't feel thirsty.

🏠 Stay in the shade where possible and avoid strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day (11am–3pm).

👒 Wear loose, light-coloured clothing and don't forget sunscreen.

⚠️ Some health conditions and medications can increase the risk of dehydration and heat-related illness, including:
• Heart conditions
• Kidney disease
• Diabetes
• Dementia
• Respiratory conditions

Certain medications may also make you more vulnerable, including: • Diuretics ("water tablets") • Some blood pressure medications • Laxatives • Certain antidepressants and antipsychotics

Signs of dehydration can include: • Thirst • Dry mouth • Dark urine • Dizziness • Headache • Tiredness or confusion

Please check on elderly relatives, neighbours and anyone vulnerable during this hot weather.

If you're unsure whether your medication or medical condition may affect you in the heat, speak to a member of our pharmacy team for advice.

Hi, we're Stacey and Jon - the pharmacists behind Gower Apothecary.

We're pharmacists, independent prescribers, pharmacy owners, parents, and now the founders of Gower Apothecary.

For years, we've helped patients with a wide range of skin concerns, from dryness and sensitivity to acne, rosacea and age-related skin changes. Time and time again, we saw people spending money on products they didn't need, while struggling to find skincare they could genuinely trust.

As pharmacists and independent prescribers, we spend every day helping people manage their skin health. Gower Apothecary was born from a simple belief: skincare should be effective, uncomplicated and backed by expertise.

We're so excited to finally introduce Gower Apothecary, our pharmacist-led skincare brand inspired by the beauty of the Gower coast.

As pharmacists, we've spent years helping people with concerns such as dry skin, sensitivity, redness and acne. Time and again, we found ourselves having the same conversations about skincare and wanting to simplify the advice we gave.

Today we're celebrating all the dads, stepdads, grandads, father figures and carers who support, guide and care for their families every day.
