“You’ll be fine” comes from love, but a worried brain often needs something more specific 🧠

Start by helping your child feel understood.

Then break the worry down into something smaller and more manageable.

Sometimes 5% easier is enough to get moving. 💛

Save this for the school morning wobble.

Back-to-school nerves are normal 📚

Sometimes our instinct as parents is to reassure, fix and remove every worry.

But confidence grows when children discover:
“I felt nervous AND I managed it.”

You do not have to make school feel completely worry-free.

Help them feel heard, help them prepare, then gently remind them of what they can handle. 💛

What is your child most nervous or excited about this week?

GCSE Results Day 💛📚

However today goes, please remember this…

Your results do not define you. ✨

You might feel excited, relieved, disappointed, confused, proud, numb, or a complete mix of all of it 😅 and that’s okay.

If you didn’t get the grades you were hoping for, it does not mean everything is ruined. There are still options, different routes and people who can help you work out what comes next. 💛

Take a breath.
Talk to someone you trust.
Give yourself a minute before deciding what anything “means”.

And if you got the results you wanted, celebrate yourself! 🥳 You’ve worked hard to get here.

Whatever is written on that piece of paper today, you are still you.

And you are worth so much more than a number or a grade. ❤️

Share this with someone getting their results today who might need the reminder 💛

When even Emily Blunt is tapping to calm herself down… 👀👏

Tapping is one of the techniques I use with both children and adults to help bring down the intensity of big emotions, anxiety and overwhelm.

It involves gently tapping on specific points on the body while focusing on what you’re feeling. For some people, the combination of touch, attention and slowing things down can help them feel more grounded and regulated.

It’s simple, discreet and once you know how to use it, it’s something you can take away and use for yourself anywhere. 💛

I love seeing techniques like this pop up in films because it helps make these tools feel a little more normal and accessible.

Have you ever tried tapping before? 👇

Sometimes, when a child is having a huge reaction, our instinct is to use more words.

“Calm down.”
“Tell me what’s wrong.”
“Why did you do that?”
“You need to listen.”

But an overwhelmed brain often isn’t ready for a conversation yet. 🧠

Children gradually learn emotional regulation through experience, and part of that is having a calm adult alongside them while the big feeling passes.

That might look like lowering your voice, slowing yourself down, sitting nearby or simply saying:

💛 “I’m here. We’ll work it out when you’re ready.”

You don’t have to fix the emotion.

Sometimes your calm presence is the tool.

When life feels overwhelming, take a moment and ask:

Is this inside or outside my control?

We can’t control other people, their opinions, the past, the weather or exactly what happens next.

But we can control our choices, actions, boundaries, effort, words and how we respond. 💛

This doesn’t mean the things outside the circle don’t matter. It means we stop giving all our energy to things we cannot change and bring our focus back to what we can do now.

A simple tool, but often a very powerful one.

What is one thing you can bring back inside your control today? 👇

Things may have gone a little quiet with Lala & the Magic of Anchoring recently, but that doesn’t mean the book has stopped moving forward. 📖✨

There are still conversations happening, new people discovering it, and copies sitting proudly on shelves waiting to find their next little reader.

It honestly feels so special seeing my book stocked alongside so many other beautiful children’s books. These photos were taken at shops in Ivybridge, Plymouth, and Blossom Barn in Shrivenham. Seeing something I created out in the real world still feels slightly surreal! 🥹💛

Lala & the Magic of Anchoring gently introduces children to a simple calming technique through story, helping them explore confidence, emotions and the strength they already have within them.

The book is still available to buy online here:
