Cheeky wink for Lughnasa ladies.

Today we greet the first of the harvest festivals🧡👩🏼‍🌾🌻

There's comfort to be found in recognising rhythm, ritual and inevitable change. It doesn't have to be major to be meaningful.

Sending blooming love beams!

My sister and I Laura Helen have so much to be proud of. Bringing up four independently minded, grounded, spirited young women is both my privilege and my pleasure.

Despite many a challenge, Laura and I have always found a way to let the love we have for each other win.

Sisterhood matters....

I cannot tell you how much I was willing the post box Goddess to come to life! 😆

For I live a life
Connected to what feels right
In heart and gut

Then in these far between moments
Of being threatened or cut
I can rise up

For being in conversation with the Goddess
Has made me see
That life is not all beauty and whimsy

And when I am wronged
And my strength shows
Others are shocked
At what my tender heart knows

But I wear with pride
My ability to see
With transparency
The times when I need to be larger than life

In this way I de-escalate situations
That could easily be

Diminishing

To the woman
That I call me

Feeling fabulous, going nowhere☄️💙💠

Since the early Suki walks done I'm doing little else today.

Happy heat hiding ladies, I'm looking forward to seeing some of you tomorrow. Please be gentle and compassionate with yourself.

Heidi had a fabulous time at her prom on Friday night. I was very proud to hear that she danced the night away.🤎

Looking at this photo of her, I'm reminded of a few words from a Nikita Gill poem I read in class on Friday morning....

The Red Wolf

Her mother told her
she could grow up to be
anything she wanted to be,
so she grew up to become
the strongest of the strong

I am truly fortunate to have helped usher this incredible individual into her teenage years. She not even 16 yet!

Ladies

As everyone booked on knows I've cancelled this week's classes.

It's very important to me to ensure the quality of your class experience and with the temperature this high, I felt it was only sensible to ask you to stay at home so you can flop about in next to nothing and give your body a break.

Practicing gentle, down regulating yoga at home however is very much recommended, so, here's a few suggestions....

🪷 Legs up the wall/ waterfall legs- any amount of getting your legs higher than your heart is very cooling.

🪷 Cooling breath- breathe in through pursed lips or by making a little tunnel by sticking out a curled up tongue, (the air travelling over the moisture on your tongue will act like an air conditioner), hold gently, breathe out through your mouth.

🪷 Listen to a deep relaxation, many are available for free online and lots of you already have some of my story meditation recordings, dust them off and sink into a cooling hour of bliss

Do not underestimate how challenging it is especially for premenopausal ladies or those of us experiencing chronic auto immune conditions (or ladies in premenstrual or bleed phase of cycle) to be able to regulate our temperature.

Be kind to yourself and get more rest and water than you think you need.

Sending lots of love and cooling vibes

Lisa
