5 Everyday Habits That Mess With Your Rhythm

Your circadian rhythm is sensitive — beautifully so. But modern life… well, it doesn’t exactly help.

Here are 5 sneaky things that throw your body clock off:
🌙 1. Scrolling at night
Blue light tells your brain it’s daytime. No wonder you feel wired at bedtime.
☕ 2. Caffeine too late in the day
Even if you “don’t feel it”, caffeine can linger for 6–8 hours and delay your sleep signals.
🍽️ 3. Eating at random times
Your digestive system has its own rhythm. Late‑night eating can confuse it.
😵‍💫 4. Stress hormones staying high
If your nervous system never gets the memo to switch off, your sleep/wake cycle can’t reset.
🌥️ 5. Not getting morning daylight
Your body needs natural light early in the day to anchor your internal clock.

Here’s the part most people don’t realise…Your meridians also run on a 24‑hour cycle!

Each organ system has its own “peak time” — a window where it’s most active.
When your circadian rhythm is off, your meridian clock gets thrown off too.

That’s why you might:
- wake at 2–3am (Liver time)
- get a slump at 3–5pm (Bladder time)
- feel wired at 9–11pm (Triple Warmer time)

Your body is always talking — the timing of your symptoms is often the clue.
None of this is about perfection — it’s about awareness. As I always harp on, tiny shifts make a big difference!

Next post: how to reset your rhythm (without becoming a 5am gym person).

If you want help resetting your meridians, I can help you with that x

Your Body Clock: The Bit No One Talks About...

Ever feel like your energy is all over the place… even when you’re “doing everything right”?

You wake up tired, get a random burst at 10pm, crash at 3pm, or ping awake at 2–3am for no good reason.
That’s often your circadian rhythm — your internal body clock — quietly waving a little flag saying, “Hey… I’m out of sync.”

Your body runs on a 24‑hour schedule that affects:
- your sleep
- your digestion
- your hormones
- your mood
- your energy
- even how well you cope with stress
When this rhythm drifts, everything feels harder.

You’re not “lazy”, “unmotivated”, or “broken” — your body clock is just confused.
Over the next few posts, I’m going to show you how to gently bring it back into balance.

Next up: the everyday habits that knock your rhythm out without you even realising.

How kinesiology lets us have a conversation with the body

One of the things I love most about kinesiology is that it allows us to have a literal conversation with the body. Not in a mystical, floaty way — but through the nervous system, the subconscious, and the body’s own built‑in feedback system.

When we use muscle testing, we’re tapping into the part of you that’s always paying attention: your subconscious. This part of the mind stores your memories, your stress responses, your emotional patterns, and the things your body has been quietly coping with for years. It knows far more than the conscious mind ever could.

Muscle testing works like a yes/no language. Once you understand that language, you can ask the body almost anything — not just about supplements or foods.

You can explore:
• where stress is sitting in the body
• which emotions are being triggered
• what the body needs to feel safe
• which energy pathways are blocked
• what past experiences are still affecting you
• what helps your system come back into balance

It’s like bypassing the overthinking, over‑analysing conscious mind and going straight to the source — the part of you that already knows what’s wrong and what will help.

It might sound unusual at first, but once you experience it, it feels surprisingly natural.

The body is always communicating - kinesiology just gives us a way to listen.

Give me a shout if you think this is something that could help you! x

Heading somewhere hot soon? A little tip for keeping the mozzies away…

If you’re a magnet for mosquito bites, this one’s for you!

Start taking garlic tablets a good few weeks before your holiday.
Mozzies hate the smell that comes through your skin when you’ve got enough garlic in your system — you won’t notice it, but they definitely do.

It’s not a miracle cure, but it can make a big difference to how tasty you are to them.

Less itching, less swelling - and the cheap ones from the supermarket will do the job nicely!

Your future holiday self will thank you.

I was feeling out of balance prior to the my first visit, having had a kicking courtesy of the menopause I put it down to further hormonal in balance. Working this through with Chris it transpires that I have a food intolerance.

Chris recommended some supplements to support me, along with some changes in my diet have resulted in my feeling a whole lot better.

Chris is genuinely a lovely person, she has given advice and been support my new venture, which she didn't have to do. You leave feeling that no only have you seen a great practitioner - but that you have also made a friend."

Ahhh....love that! Angie has a great new business she is getting off the ground - boxing therapy! I am more than happy to help her in any way I can! We should all support each other - no gatekeeping allowed here! It's been a learning curve for setting up my business and if I can help anyone with their new ventures, I will!

Finding the Balance in a World Full of Wellness Noise

Something has really struck me lately, and I want to talk about it openly.
We all want to live as healthily as we can — of course we do. We want to feel good, have energy, support our bodies, and make choices that help us thrive. But somewhere along the way, the wellness world has become… noisy. Not just noisy — fear‑based.

Everywhere you look, there’s a message telling you what you must avoid, what you should cut out, what’s “toxic”, what’s “dangerous”, what you’re doing wrong. And honestly? I think it’s getting a bit much.

I’ll hold my hands up and say that at times, without meaning to, I’ve probably contributed to that noise too. Not from a place of fear, but from wanting to help people feel better.

Still — it’s made me reflect on how important balance really is. Because living well shouldn’t feel stressful.
It shouldn’t feel like you’re failing if you don’t get it perfect. You shouldn’t feel like you have to worry about every single thing you eat, drink, or do and you certainly shouldn’t feel like you’re constantly on high alert.

For me, it’s simple: I follow the 80/20 rule.

In regards to eating, about 80% of what I eat is really good, nourishing, supportive food.....the other 20%? It’s not perfect — and that’s absolutely fine.

Because we’re humans, not robots and because joy matters.
Because stress about being “perfect” is far worse for your body than the occasional treat.

Let’s keep doing the best we can.
Let’s keep learning, growing, and making choices that support our health.

But let’s also stop letting fear run the show.
Wellness should feel empowering — not exhausting x

Do you ever feel tired… all the time?

Not just “I had a late night” tired, but that deep, dragging tiredness that seems to follow you around no matter what you do.

Maybe you’re relying on caffeine to get through the day or you wake up feeling like you haven’t actually rested.
Maybe you keep telling yourself it’s “just life” — but your body keeps whispering otherwise.

Fatigue isn’t always about sleep.
Sometimes it’s your hormones shifting.
Sometimes it’s low iron, B12, vitamin D, or other minerals running on empty.
Sometimes it’s stress that never properly switches off.
Sometimes it’s your system working harder than you realise.

Your body is always communicating — and tiredness is one of its clearest messages.

If this feels familiar and you’d like to explore what your body might be trying to tell you, I have appointments available. A kinesiology session can help you understand what’s going on underneath and where your system may need support.

You don’t have to live in a constant state of exhaustion.
Your energy matters — and you deserve to feel like yourself again x
